@@Marthisdil Yes, but every game where they face a slight speed bump is one where they're held prisoner and have to slow down, especially those games where victory is uncertain and they stay, like the few games in this video where an aggro deck was still around by turn 7-8, instead of knowing whether they win or lose by turn 3.

I love when I play against that kind of deck and it doesn't get the auto-win-nut-draw with a perfect 1-2-3-4 mana curve and my opponent still manages to win because they're just better than me.

@20:33 Seems like the right call for Boros to concede here. Its turn 8, you have 8 lands and 6 cards in hand, the thing your opponent is looking for is a Mirrex or Fountainport. If he can't get one of those early enough, then there is no point in trying to play out through turns 11 and 12 against Azorius control. If I had a Talent or a Forge, I'd definitely try it here and make you have the hard counter. But if I was sitting there holding Torch the Tower, Get Lost, and Lightning Helix, I would concede.

That was me. Even without seeing it in a video, I felt a bit bad after scooping that game, but I play mainly blue white control myself and I know that at that point in the game there is very small chance the forge player will come back. No mirrex, no fountainport, nothing, even not the infamous Season of burrow, to throw something at the table. His BW version though is quite weak against forge, most of the games would end in forge player's favor as he has only 1 mirrex, a few anchorages and whales as win cons and no artifact removal or bounce spells. You kinda need Jace there before you get slowly, but steadily overrun as you can't counter forever everything. So the wins in this video were mainly because of bad and impatient players like myself and bad draws from our part.

Also, yeah, I know you get some haters and some bots, but I've been watching you for a while now (Since 2021 at least...has it really been years?!!! Plural? Dang.) Love your attitude and your enthusiasm for the game. Wish I could play, but pvp has always got my heart rate and blood pressure to unhealthy levels. That and...well, we used to call it cardboard crack, now it's digital crack. Simply too expensive. STILL! Love what you do, keep up the good work!

I crafted this deck, and I was doing well at first, but then I started facing a lot of value token decks and golgari midrange decks that were able to outgrind me, and I was struggling. So I made a few tweaks, and now I'm doing well again. I cut 3 of the Not on My Watch to put in max copies of Get Lost. I also cut a Spellgyre for another Temporary Lockdown. It's a lot of fun watching opponents scoop after I remove all their threats.

I hate the mono red decks, but I also hate control decks with no win con except "my opponent isn't allowed to play and will concede because they are not having fun or die to removal spells that turn into 6/6s later when they have no value left" Usually people play control cards so they can do cool/ powerful things, and people play aggro so they can keep making boards. When it's meta like this because aggro has too much good damage and control has too much good removal nobody gets to do anything except punish each other for bad draws, which is why everyone just concedes.

Elspeth's smite just does not work for me, but I think the 1 mana removal is super important. I'm playing an Into the Floodmaw + Jace control deck. The 1 mana blowout card is so useful for tempo gains

@CovertGoBlue you should have another go at Dimir, try Stoic Sphinx again, with Three steps and the basic black destruction for the aggro meta, Ertai and some more counterspells, floodmaw for the talents or the U forge. Its aggressive control and it ruins the fun for mono red.

Not On My Watch feels like it should be bad because historically "target attacking creature" cards that cost 2 mana have been bad. But in this meta it is so important to have removal that is both instant speed and exiles, the card is actually good.
