I don't see it. It's bad vs Wicked Wolf and Apparition and can't attack into lovestruck beast. For a 4 drop it's not terrible, but I'm not even sure it's worth a slot in a giants deck.

@@Derael Granted, but most creatures die to removal, and most cards have their downsides in general. That said, in the games I've seen/played, Tectonic Giant appears to pull a lot of weight as either a Lightning Bolt or Light up the Stage on a stick. It's not Elder Gargaroth, but it's pretty darn close.

@@dougcarey2233 While most creatures indeed die to removal, the key point is their mana cost. Even cards like Questing Beast don't see much play, for 4 drop to be good, it needs to be really good. Elder Gargaroth is also mostly played in sideboard for that reason. Tectonic Giant's statline is a bit awkward, and it lines up relatively poorly vs popular creatures. It's not a terrible card, but it's only playable in a dedicated giants deck.

Thank you CGB! Dimir control is my favorite archetype. I think that Cosima and Alrund make it competitive. Would you consider swapping maze mind tome for into the multiverse? One thing I like about the multiverse card is that when you foretell it, it bluffs as a saw it coming.

Mazemind Tome is pretty important for the life gain against aggro and smoothing your draws, especially in BO1. You could definitely try swapping some copies of Cosima for Behold since they function similarly.

Honestly, even with escape cards, when opponent plays turn 1 Crab, I resign. It's not worth the half-hour of frustration knowing that if my draws falter even a little in the early game, I've already lost. Good for you CGB. (As an aside, today I played a turn 2 Ugin off of a Tibalt's Trickery against a Rogue player, and I was so unapologetic about it. He stuck it out for 2 more turns and resigned. So sweet!)

Cosima goes into exile on upkeep. She returns with counters on landfall

No. The trigger to exile Cosima happens only at the beginning of your upkeep, but if Cosima is already in exile and you have a fabled passage on the field, you can crack it to put an additional counter on the cosima.

I was asking myself the same question. For exemple, if you get a bonecrusher from opponent library with +2 ability of Tibalt, you get to cast the stomp side and the creature goes to YOUR exile. What is the difference between the trigger of Cosima at the upkeep and the scenario with adventure cards ?

Really cool DL. I would say that having only 2 counter spell other than jwari could be dangerous. Especially with only 3 extinction. I don’t believe that much in the 4 copy of cosima as long as it doesn’t synergize in a kill such as DT. Keep up the good content !

I am no joke a fan of that last matchup. I don't think anyone expected the latest Izzet Tech: The WarOven. I know I wasn't. I kind of want to see a game where it's Portent Betrayal, Claim Firstborn, Akroan War and basically ALL the ovens. Late game blue got cards that do similar stuff, too. Not viable, sure, but omg it sounds fun.

I empathize with you CGB. Still don't know if you were successful in getting back into top 1200 but I was not. I also held a very high spot in around the 300s-400s all month just to get pushed out in the last few days and couldn't catch a break in my games. I am surprised that you didn't go against those tibalt's trickery decks. I've actually switched to bo3 because going against a turn two Ugin or Koma doesn't appeal to me.
