I only now realize this after my 100th time listening, how terribly relatable the lyrics are to my own life. To learn from a young age not to be dependant on others, but that independence turns its head on you later in life in the form of becoming overly obsessed with the little things in life that never go right. You feel as though your choices never really had any dependence in how your life turned out, which leads to an overwhelming spiral where you realize you've missed out on so much because you've spent so much time worrying on the things that you couldve never controlled. When I was 15 I did all this to my friends and family, and to be honest I still do. This song made me realize all this and that I want to change, so that I no longer feel regretful about my past actions, or lack there of.
