Information to make this video was obtained and collated from the following resources: UpToDate, CDC, WHO and journal articles from the Lancet and NEJM.
"The World health organisation (WHO) has declared COVID-19 a pandemic. COVID 19 stands for coronavirus disease 2019 and is caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2.
Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in people and many different species of animals including cats and bats. Common human coronavirus typically causes an upper respiratory tract infection, like the common cold. Most people get infected with one or more of these viruses at some point in their lives. The human coronavirus infection typically resolves on its own with basic rest while feeling miserable.
Rarely, the coronaviruses that infect animals can evolve and become a new human coronavirus which then infect and spread between people. Important examples include severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus or SARS in 2003 and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus also known MERS in 2012"

Thank you for the video. One thing I would like to add: there’re two strains of COVID-19 (L type vs S type). Chinese researchers found both strands during the outbreaks. Approximately 70% of patients in Wuhan had L type and 30% had S type. S type was the original type that transmitted from the bat to human and more deadly. S type causes a rapid development of severe symptoms including but not limited to ARDS, diarrhea, and pneumonia. L type is less severe but easier to transmit through droplets.

The mortality rate is probably not 3%. Data out of South Korea shows that it is much lower. Many people who have caught the virus have never been diagnosed so they cannot be counted as recovered. The mortality rate is likely much much lower maybe even less than 1%

Summer of 2019 both myself and my hair dresser got sicker than we have ever been at the same time. She was diagnosed with pneumonia, and I was diagnosed with influenza type a with bronchitis and a viral upper respiratory infection. I'm not in the medical field, so I asked if an upper respiratory infection was the same as bronchitis and my doctor said it was not. But I was confused because I was tested for the flu and she said it came back negative, but the she left and came back in and said it was positive. I had asked my hairdresser's daughter (whom I am friends with) to come look after me as I was, for the first time in my life, physically unable to leave my bed. She had to stay and take care of her mother, so my mother came to take care of me. I do want to say that I didn't ask my mom to come help, but she came over one day and saw how sick I was and she got scared. I was scared, too. I'm not a drama queen, but I thought I was going to die. It felt as if my body had been beat up, and someone had a pillow over my face smothering me. This Covid-19 has scared me, because I have flashbacks of last summer, and I start to panic because I can never be that sick again.

You can buy P100 half mask respirators online. About $35 to $40 bucks. Make sure the half mask comes with P100 (magenta color filters) otherwise, you need to buy filters separately. P100 filter cartridges provide near 100% virus filtration and if you are fit tested (a specialized leak test required by OSHA), then they do provide 100%. Make sure the half mask fits you properly. A normal adult size face will be a large size. Women might be a medium size. The P100 filters are HEPA filters and they will last a very long time unless you're working in a very dusty environment. They should last at least a year or so but, you can buy a pair of new filters for about $15. Wear it when you go into any public building. It will save your life. Make sure you are clean shaven (no beards or stubble) otherwise, the mask will not seal to your face and virus can get through. Perform a positive and negative pressure check on the respirator when you first put it on (this is a basic self-seal check you can research online to ensure proper sealing). These respirators have been designed and researched by NIOSH for decades and they are required by OSHA. You can make and attach a simple, loose cloth cover for the exhalation valve to prevent coughing droplets from being released. Use caution if you have pre-existing respiratory health issues as wearing a respirator does add some resistance to normal breathing but you will find half mask respirators to be very comfortable and much easier to breathe through and cooler than most masks and face coverings because of the exhaust valve. Make sure to keep your respirator clean inside using sanitary wipes and make sure the membrane valves are taken care of and are not damaged because they can tear easily. Store your respirator in a Ziploc bag. Do not share your respirator with others. Half mask respirators can be completely dismantled and cleaned but this only needs to be done occasionally.
