Many patients with COVID-19 infection develop neurological disease. It has been hypothesized that these findings may be in part explained by the virus accessing the central nervous system across the blood-brain barrier. Immune system and blood-brain barrier dysfunction may contribute the increased risk of stroke and seizures. This talk will include a review of the published literature supporting the role of blood-brain barrier dysfunction in the neurological manifestations of coronavirus infection
