Great video! You really do a nice job of explaining things - you are a natural teacher. The starter swap/upgrade was a great to know about and the tip about using battery jumper cables to make new battery- starter cables was a smart cleaver tip! Love the family history of the car and that it has been keep the family and original all these years. The Grandparents are proud and happy!

A Chrysler New Yorker was never cheap. It usually gave a very smooth ride. Six full size adults could ride comfortably in a car like this.

It still does have a very smooth ride!

Six full adults, the neighbors, 3 kids from down the street, the mailman, your in-laws & the fire chief...then you still have a 14 acre trunk

I recently saw a note that said the ‘66 and ‘67 New Yorkers with the 440 had balanced engines from the factory. Love your rescue!

Thanks Dennis! Yep, this one has been in the family too long to neglect. We've been putting some miles on since then & have more planned for this big girl!

My Parents bought a 1966 Newport Town sedan brand new in 1966. One of the best cars we ever had. Both my sister and I learned to drive with it and used it for many years to drive to school and run errands. I noticed in several of your photos and video shots that at times it had Newport taillight lenses but New Yorker badging. was in damaged at some point? Beautiful car.

Yes sir, sometime back in the late 80's, the original tail lights got damaged...I found a replacement set of originals but kept the Newport set as a spare.
