Dear John can you PLEASE stop it with your nonsense propaganda COVID about vaccination, mask and isolation? we are going no where and I'm really surprise so many people watch this channel because the virus (SARS-COv-2) has been never isolated hence how they have created testing and vaccine is unknown so far! The testing have been used is for forensic investigation not to detect a viral infection. Those cases and death numbers you give is based in absolutely nothing! There is no study how Covid has killed the persons in Italy all people who died from covid were isolated, taken from their families and cremated! So I don't understand what we are talking about here? Any covid variants? what do you think I get vaccinated for each variant every month? It lays the foundations for a therapeutic dictatorship, people cannot sacrifice their freedoms (which are inviolable) in the name of a hypothetical security, otherwise you won't live here anymore !! so please leave your fairy tales alone and live your life in serenity.

Thank you for this Dr. John! I'm 67 and I tested positive for Covid on February 9th. I think I'm quite lucky in that I didn't lose sense of taste or smell, though I got a dry cough at first, which became productive in the second week. I couldn't breathe deeply without that very painful cough for about a week. I suffered dreadful tiredness, lack of energy and brain fog - no concentration at all. But I kept getting the calories in (kept my appetite, in other words!), and after my self isolation, tackled the quite scary prospect of a local walk, not sure how far I'd get. After that, I rapidly got stronger and stronger, until now, when I'm back riding my bike with full strength returned to my legs. I have residual (still productive) cough and throat-clearing, though no other symptoms. I live on my own, and it was touch-and-go as to whether my children would pack me off to hospital at one or two points, but I'm glad I pulled through on my own. My first vaccine is next week.

Funny to know that Dr. John is correct to type "Synptoms". I looked up the etiology. The Latin "symptoma" comes from the source Greek "syn" and "piptein". Meaning "to befall, happen; coincide, fall together,"

My wife had almost no classic features, but chest and breathing were her main marker, lasted for about two months. Steroids and other treatments greatly helped along with vitamin D perhaps kept her from getting worse. How I escaped a positive test a number of times, even though I had various symptoms I will never know. The only thing I can say is that it is highly unpredictable both in terms of symptoms and, critically the degree of impact. You are vastly better off without catching it and joining a lottery with 'killer' tickets.

I caught Covid in late January. Maybe I'd caught it a year ago, I suspect I did, as my symptoms were pretty mild. Little, or no fever, lethargy and no appetite for about a week. I felt like I wanted to cough, but I didn't experience full blown coughing till about 2 weeks in. Then I had what I call "coughing days." I'd go 3 days without a cough and then it would start up, sometimes at the most inopportune moments!. Thankfully, there's no sign of it now, but I am still, 8 weeks in, experiencing weird symptoms, often at different times of the day. But, thankfully, I'm able to exercise and go on walks with no apparent issues.

One reason we feel cold is that the hypothalamus has reset our temperature higher and we feel cold until we get there, and once we are there, we feel hot again.

Felt this phenomenon all day yesterday after getting my second dose of the vaccine: freezing cold while my body tried to hit its intended fever max, then sweating hot during the comedown. Because I had no other symptoms, as I might have if I were actually sick, I was able to track the entire process. It was sort of cool 😂

@@essanjay8604 I just started menopause when I caught Covid. How do I tell the difference between hot flashes/chills and Covid fever & chills? Since recovering from my high Vit☀D level, but still an 11-week Long Haul Covid, my fevers/chills seem dramatically milder! But I still have them, about every hour & 15 minutes!

@@elisevillemaire8344 With the menopausal variety the chills usually don't last that long and are sometimes a welcome break from the boiling sweats. I think I'm going to be a lifer. I've had it for about 15 years already but most women only have to endure it for a few years. HRT cures it completely by the way.

I get a craving for Kentucky Fried Chicken a day before flu like symptoms break out which is actually convenient as it means I don't have to prepare meals for a few days when I get sick. Somehow, the body knows it's sick long before symptoms break. Of course this disease is particularly sneaky as many people unknowingly spread it before they know they are ill forcing us to behave as if we are ill and moderate our contacts regardless of how we feel.

@@carolynwestlake7670 Yeah, I guess it's like how pregnant woman have odd cravings even for dirt in some cases. Somehow the body can associate what it needs with specific foods and dirt. I wonder if cravings could be used as an early symptom. I guess I'll self isolate a few days after every visit to KFC which is almost never.

@Gorgeous George I never said the KFC was good, just that before I have symptoms, I would have cravings for something I would normally not want at all. As to minimum wage workers inappropriately handling the food, well it'll be by robots such as "Baxter" or rather "Sawyer" which has replaced "Baxter" soon. www.rethinkrobotics.com/

Thanks for the update, I know it was helpful for a great many people. I am 73 and can not remember, when I did not have all of these symptoms, except loss of smell or taste. I also know I have never had a fever since I was 5 or 6. It just goes to show how much difference there is in people. Any day I can get out of bed is a good day.

I've had a couple of very serious viral infections over the years, hepatitis A/glandular fever (the tests were sort of positive to both, the modern tests might be more definitive) and dengue fever. In both cases the onset involved an epic headache that was quite different to a regular headache. The headache for the hepatitis felt as if I had a large, heavy ball in a channel in my head and when I moved my head down the ball would roll down the channel and thump the front of my skull, when I moved my head up the ball would roll down the channel and thump on the back of my skull. The dengue headache was just something pulsing in the top part of my skull. The point of these stories is that I suspect that headaches are a common feature of severe viral illness.

Well tiredness is not a joke in this case. When I got covid I remember very clearly , even though it’s over a year now, going to the kitchen or basically moving around for small things make me tired. Even when I was fine it took me almost 3weeks after my COVID negative result to get back to that energy where I was fine and doing small things was ok.
