Dr Berg's video script ❤ Thick and Shiny Hair: The Root Cause Today, we're going to explore the secrets behind thick and shiny hair. As you know, I like to dive deep into the root causes of certain issues. When it comes to hair, it's essential to understand that any problems you're experiencing are just the tip of the iceberg. Biotin: The B Vitamin Biotin is a B vitamin that plays a crucial role in hair growth. Many people take biotin supplements to improve the thickness and shine of their hair. However, it's essential to understand why you might be deficient in biotin in the first place. Gut Microbiome and Biotin Your gut microbiome produces biotin. However, antibiotics can disrupt this process, leading to biotin deficiency. This is why people who take antibiotics may experience hair problems. Diet and Biotin Biotin can also be obtained through your diet. Foods rich in biotin include liver, egg yolks, and nutritional yeast. However, it's essential to cook your eggs, as raw eggs can prevent biotin absorption. Vitamin A and Hair Growth Vitamin A, specifically retinol, is essential for hair growth. It helps control sebum production, making your hair shiny and healthy. Foods rich in vitamin A include liver, egg yolks, and shellfish. Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Hair Growth Omega-3 fatty acids are crucial for hair growth. They help make your hair thick and shiny. Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids include fish oil, cod liver oil, and flaxseeds. Lactobacillus Ruteri and Hair Growth Lactobacillus ruteri is a microbe that's essential for hair growth. It increases sebum production, making your hair shiny and healthy. Copper and Hair Growth Copper is an essential mineral for hair growth. It helps regulate iron levels, which is crucial for hair growth. Foods rich in copper include shellfish, nuts, and legumes. Causes of Copper Deficiency Copper deficiency can be caused by various factors, including: - NPK fertilizers, which deplete copper levels in soil - Excessive iron consumption, which can lock up copper - Fructose corn syrup, which depletes copper levels - Zinc supplements, which can deplete copper levels if taken in excess Summary To achieve thick and shiny hair, focus on the following: 1. Consume probiotic-rich foods like kefir, sauerkraut, and kimchi to support your gut microbiome. 2. Eat foods rich in biotin, vitamin A, and omega-3 fatty acids, such as liver, egg yolks, and cod liver oil. 3. Choose organic foods to avoid glyphosate, which can deplete copper levels. 4. Ensure you're getting enough trace minerals, including copper, zinc, and magnesium.

During my adolescent years, I went on (the original version of) Weight Watchers. This required consuming 4-6 oz. of cooked liver each week. One of the results? People would ask me what shampoo I was using! Why? Because my waist-length hair was extremely thick and shiny. With? No split ends. Although my experience is anecdotal, it lends credence to Dr. Berg’s analysis…50 years later. These days, I consume liver in the desiccated form (grass-fed; from Argentina). Thank you, Dr. B.! ❤

My mom fed only raw egg to a puppy in the 50’s as the breeder told her to feed it that. She didn’t feed it anything else cuz the breeder only mentioned the eggs. After a while (not sure how long) that poor dog was foaming out the mouth, went to vet he put it down. She was so mad at the breeder, some people will literally do exactly what they are told. There was no internet back then. I must have been 4 but I remember seeing it. My dogs have only gotten the best food out there but there is a lot of info out there to research.

@@lesliereynolds4492 Feeding BARF is best, sorry to read the egg-white story. Some people do fail to explore an idea. Ask the question what would dogs eat in nature? As an aside, ask yourself why ALL commercial; pet food is brown?

I've learnt not to scratch, which makes my hair fall out and create sores. But I'm very conscious of it being more visible with my thinning white hair.
