I really love how she kept the control even though she was nervous. I also love how she doesn't care about doing it fast, she just does the stage in her time, very focused on the task. It's all about doing it, not doing it fast. Lesson learnt here. Thanks :)
@tacsilent5 жыл бұрын
She did fine, she shot safely, and a slow hit is better than a fast miss. While she's not fast yet, with some positive reinforcement, practice, and reps, she'll gain speed in no time.
@Magnacharger075 жыл бұрын
That's what I was thinking it takes alot of practice.

yup half her problem was nerves ... once she has those worked out from ore use of the range ... i doubt she will be over 40 second rounds very often at all . her only other problem is her hands are just a bit too small for the pistols ... but that will change in a year maybe two as she grows older
@0623kaboom6 жыл бұрын
oh one more thing .. if she ever gets a rifle with a scope ... have practice her breathing with a rubber band on a ruler ... only flick when you have your breath right .... best way to practice the shooting breath . the way she handled that winchester ... she will make a darn good sniper too

Good to see a family shoot safely together and have fun. As you do stages more you will get better and have even more fun. A lot of it is between the ears and not in the weapon. It is a great way to teach focus and adaptability.

It is fun, and helps shooters hone their skills. Safety is paramount, good to see that it is given the due importance. But most of all I enjoyed seeing that there were fast shooters and slow shooters - all were given help, instructions and assistance. That makes it even more fun. When I have the chance, I shoot IPSC, steel challenge and ICORE, and it's always great to have the support of others.

In the two match videos I've watched Sam was shooting her right side revolver with her right hand and her left side revolver with her left hand, and shooting both pretty well. Most folks who shoot with both hands will shift the "weak side" revolver to their strong hand but you can certainly do it Sam's way. If she is comfortable shooting with either hand, perhaps she might work her way into the Gunfighter category. One of our young lady shooters in Upstate SC (Pistols Petite) shoots GF and does very well.

Nice! I went to my first match this week. Learned a few tricks and a few lessons. I need to slick up my '92. The loading gate was so stiff, it raised a blister on my finger from loading it and shoving rounds in with my finger tip. I used a hammered coach gun, and kept forgettitng to pull the hammers back. One thing I don't like is wearing ear plugs instead of headphones though.

It definitely takes a while to get comfortable with all the steps, and especially keeping all the safety steps in mind. That is not counting just keeping the order of things like how many shot into what target in what order correct. It took about 3 months for me to get comfortable with all that. And I am an experienced shooter otherwise. Just not in this discipline. I am having a great time now, and I am sure they will too.

Hardly friend. Look at the shooting plugs in their ears, and In cowboy action shooting it is under powered rounds that they shoot so as to fire quicker. That's why you saw that 13 year old girl very casually firing that 45 colt pistol.
