Glad the US is finally getting Carole and Tuesday and the fact that he has a woman of color as a lead is just so magnificent and refreshing to see. She isn't drawn in a crazy fashion as well. Carole and Tuesday is truly such a gem admist all of the mainstream shonen shows that are in the forefront lately. I have overshared this show to my friends while fearing that will make them not watch it. I just want them to watch this show so badly and hopefully will love it as much as I do. On another note, I read a critic article about this show about how it displays blaxploitation and puts the transgender characters in a misrepresented and disrespectful light, mostly because of Dahlia's character. It hurts to hear that because although I do understand how they could see that, I didn't see for who they were but rather the character developments themselves. I felt they were really trying to search for how this show was just pandering to almost every crowd and it's heartbreaking to think about that. I am more rather comforted and very pleased that they had so much diversity in this show, and I think this shouldn't only be coming from Watanabe's works, but from everyone else's as well. Thank you for sharing this piece.

Nice video of Watanable's work. Hope to see Carole and Tuesday brought to life like Beebop was.

Good use of auteur. Many anime directors have an iconic style, but Watanabe's works have a top to bottom attention to details and aesthetic that can only be encapsulated by the term.

Great video ! It's a pleasure to see someone speak with passion about Watanabe's work ! There is not enough videos about his creations and the team behind it ! I discover Cowboy Bebop at the age of 11 years old when it was airing on the french cable network : Game One. This anime had a huge impact on me because it was so different from the animes I used to watch. I'm a fan of Miyazaki works but if someone ask me which "anime author " influenced me the most I will respond Watanabe. There is so many things I dig about his universe : the music, the diversity, the characters... I can go on and on... But can I just say I adore the androgynous characters of the Watanabe's animes . Gren from Cowboy Bebop and Desmond from C&T are iconic ! Hope to see a video about the conexions (and easter eggs) between Watanabe's shows one day ! I'm sure it will blow my mind . And you win a new suscriber ! Greetings from France ! :) 🇫🇷 🐱

Shinichiro Watanabe is one my top favorites anime directors within the anime industry, everything he touches or does have this flair of originality and uniqueness to it that's differ from other anime shows. Especially when it comes to his characters driven stories & how real he makes them feel or able to connect with them on same level; I seriously love what this man offers within anime as a whole and hope to see more awesome works from him in the future.
