I can't explain how atmospheric this song is. I've been a fan of alternative rock for most of my young life (b. 1993 here), but Cowboys Junkies, particularly this album, turned my music listening upside down. They managed to evoke so much power with soft sounds. Alot of modern pop songs try to be soft, but they always end up sounding cynical. This was pre-social media, feminist lyricism at its finest.

I was lucky enough to see Cowboy Junkies and Stevie Ray Vaughn along with many other great acts at the Jazz fest in Dallas Texas.(1990, not sure of the date might be later) It was hot as heck, 105 or more. People were dropping like flies but it was worth it. So glad I went to that show. This song is heaven. My favorite(worlds best) Canadian band is RUSH! But I really love Cowboys Junkies.

Me too. Someone I loved more than I ever thought possible and loved me more than I though anyone ever would or could. Cowboy Junkies first four albums were the soundtrack of our romance, our life together for the brief time we were allowed. She was taken from me far to soon, my beautiful wife. I'd give anything for just one more day with her. I miss her more every day and it's been many years since I lost her.. Some say time heals all wounds. Not this one.
