Cowboy Junkies is a Canadian country music and alternative rock band, formed by three Timmins siblings from Timmins Ontario. The Timmins are descendants of Noah Timmins, a mining prospector who founded the Ontario city.

After Trinity Sessions lured me in, on Margo's voice alone, way back in college in the mid-to-late-80's, the Black-Eyed Man LP always struck me as the CJ's best bits of song-writing...just really well-arranged stuff, with great guitar...

"Open" is their best album. And "I'm so open" is one of the best songs in there. Not as great as "Bread and wine" (that I just can't understand why it was not a single), but it's still a good song.

Margo's voice will always be the mark of this band, period. End. Of. Story. the "hypnotic" (code-word for dope) guitar and rhythm of her brothers never withstanding, this is a magical collection of musicians. Enjoy them while you can. I will never forget seeing them at the Berkeley Community Arts Center in CA in '93 or '94, my memory fails me, and right before the show started, some dude ran up to the stage and presented Margo with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and no none interpreted his approach as any type of threat. It was a beautifully simple gesture of thanks. This was long before the terrorists took over our wonderful country... Cheers!

Used to be my favorite band, but I thought each successive album put less emphasis of Margo's beautiful voice and more on her brother's guitar until I thought it overpowered her, like in this song.
