I don't remember these toys. I had a Johnny West and his horse. I was going to go to America and be a cowboy I used to say that, when I was little. My favourite Cowboy programme was The Virginian, loved that.

I had Johnny and Jane West and their horse, and a Native American figure as well; their friend. Got them for Christmas one year and my brothers and I loved playing with them. I remember the clothing was kind of a rubbery material.

That was great, Six! I had the 3 Cartwright figures, but not the "Outlaw" or the horses. They were pretty good figures. Believe it or not, I had a model kit that, when assembled and painted, were the 3 Cartwrights in a standing pose, all situated on one base. I used to compare the likenesses to the action figures and the model kit had better, almost exact likenesses! Thanks, Six This was a nice trip back in time.

Nice one. I don't recall ever seeing the advert or even the toys themselves. The series was great though. How often did my mates and I gallop along the street whacking our backsides with the right hand to go faster while holding imaginary reines with the left. 🙂 Thanks once again for the memories. PS Yes plastic/rubber decay is a weird thing. I've a Nikon which is so horrible and sticky to hold it's almost unusable. And an old plastic tub in the loft just disintegrated in my hand and smelt of vinegar. An organic chemists know what's going on?

@Terry's Travels! I must have gone to the same school of cowboy horse riding as you. Your comment about whacking your backside gave me such a laugh. That's exactly what we did. Except I'm lefthanded so that's how I held my reins. Do you suppose that's where the term saddle sore came from lol? Thanks for the lovely memory. Brilliant comment.

I remember the theme tune well, strange though, you can`t sing it or hum it, a combination of nasal vibrations and tongue clicks are needed. The Palomino, my fave horse should have a blonde mane and tail, just saying, also why was the show called Bonanza? what have I forgotten? Thanks for the video.
