I remember the Woodentops very clearly as I was born in 1964, I also remember Bill and Ben, Andy Pandy, the Banana Splits, the Double Decker's, Crackerjack, Fireball XL5, Thunderbirds, Joe 90, Magic Roundabout, Animal Magic, White Horses, Heidi, Hector's House, the Flashing Blade, Jackanory, Stingray, Pinky and Perky, the Clangers and many more. Great times for fantastic Children's TV. Mind you there was brilliant TV programmes and shows on TV then and the TV licence was worth it, not like today were they maybe one or two programmes on TV worth watching, as for the rest is absolutely crap and the TV licence is far too expensive and should be abolished. 💂‍♂️💂‍♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

We'd get 2oz of sweets on a Friday as our end of the week treat. Always looked forward to those ainseed balls or pear drops! Then my dad got a job at the A&BC bubblegum factory in Spilsby Road, Harold Hill...they made Bazooka Joes and the cards with gum in them, used to love my dad coming home with ill-gotten gains!
