My father, a towering intellect all his life, faded badly his last few weeks due to cancer which ultimately spread to his brain. He didn't give up but you could see his frustration. He went in and out of lucidity, he'd carry on a normal conversation with no lapses, then he'd just blank out. We tried to be positive and accepting but he resented it, he didn't want to be infantilized. Now in my sixties myself, i get a little shudder when I notice brief memory blips. The road ahead is dark and there may be no road signs.

I understand completely where you are at with this. I feel the same when I can't remember words. I feel your...(fear?) We don't know what the future holds for any of us, so let's just hope for the best. Hang in there. 🫂

I've been caring for my wife's dad for six years, now. Some days I can get memories and stories; some, I can't. It's like facets of a broken gem. The whole picture will never be there. Reflections and stories might change. He's 101years old. I can't imagine what he's lost

This is such a potent song about the weakening of the human condition. I have a feeling that the new album is really going to live up to its title.

Hits home. I am taking care of my wife's grandfather. He is at the final battle with dementia. He was an Air Force veteran and an airline mechanic for decades. I am watching a great man lose all that he ever made of himself. Again, this hits home.

I had two uncles in similar situations plus my father mentioned above. My mother's brother was a navy commander then a high level corporate lawyer for 50 years. He went through a lengthy period of Alzheimer's, progressing from mild impairment to very pronounced near the end. It was a huge burden on my cousins.

@JStarStar00 , I am so very sorry. It is definitely the most difficult thing I have experienced. It is heartbreaking that I can't do anything to help.

I lost my Mom due to dementia back in February of 2020. It was like watching my mother die twice. Also, for those of you who will have to deal with losing someone to it in the future. There's a terrible secret associated with the disease. Nobody talks about it except family members in hushed tones of voice. Dementia tears families into little shreds. The sands of our lives with our parents eventually turns into the ashes of Mom and Dad upon their passing.

I remember meeting Mike’s parents a few times. His mother was elegant and gracious and drove Mike’s wife hours to her brother’s home, a priest, near the Vermont border. What a close family. I love love the guitar on this. Haunting. Well done you all. Love

I love the eeriness of the music paired with the fragmentary lyrics which really complements the song's theme. The opening solo got me curious, the opening verse got me intrigued, and right to the end I was hooked. If this song is representative of the new album, I am looking forward to it excitedly.
