Back when I was 3 or 4 , I'd sometimes wake up at 10 or 11 ( the middle of the night for me ) and my Dad would fix me a fried bologna sandwich . I still remember how the kitchen would smell , how tasty the sandwich would be , and how nice it was to be with my Dad . I'd love to try this recipe , thanks Ken :)

The thought of fried bologna or spam sandwiches is enough to bring nightmares! I’m old enough I remember when McDonald’s and jack in the box first came along and that meant food that tasted good! I lived in the city but it was about a 45 minute bike ride to get to McDonald’s and we did it daily. These days, a 45 minute bike ride in the same place will take you past dozens of fast food restaurants. Sorry, no way I’m going back to fried, smoked, burnt, or any kind of bologna or Spam. Now, I live in the sticks and it’s a 20 minute drive to anything but it’s worth it.

I made this yesterday for my family and it was a big hit! We love your videos, and love your recipes. I watch them all the time, but sometimes on a lazy morning my hubby will watch your videos with me and get in on the action... he'll pick a recipe out for me to make. Them mornings are my favorite. And we both really enjoy you a lot. We are Americans and we will survive! We think daily of our parents safety, and those men and women who are front line during this time. It meant a lot to us that you shouted a thank you to those making the food ! Me and my hubby, Joshua, we both work at a food manufacturing plant. We blend, form, cook and package meatballs, sausage patties, burgers , and some sliced steak and chicken products. We experienced a lot of lay offs and heart breaks during this time, but we are blessed to still be working 2nd shift. They have cut us down to 28 ppl and we are called the "clean up crew", we go in and knock out anywhere from 20-50,000 pounds that has to be cooked that day. We are blessed. It is scary times, but we are happy to be providing to the people. My husband caught your thank you at the end of the video, and he actually rewinded it and called me back into the room to watch it. Kent and Shannon, that man is a simple man and for him to do that, y'all struck a soft spot in him. It might not seem like much, but the things he's had to do, see, and keep everyone motivated (he's the 2nd shift production manager) has been taking a toll on him. Just like it is on everyone right now! He's such a hard worker and I'm so proud of him...he ain't the kinda manager that sits at a desk, hell no he's the kind that works on the line and gets it done. This is long winded and I'm sorry about that...I just wanna say thank you again and we adore y'all. Thanks for delicious recipes I can cook for Joshua and show him just how much he means to me, and how much I love him 💞.

I've always been a fan of bologna which my dad called round steak and Spam which he hated cuz he ate so much of it during WWII. He always said it was made of chicken lips and alligator hips. I'll have to give this one a try. I made your American Goulash for supper tonight. My bride asked me what I was making and I told her it was "Quarantine Goulash". It was fantastic. Keep cookin and Y'all stay safe.

Thank you Kent for all of the great recipes, especially in these trying times. I love the fact you take ordinary, everyday items and turn em into wholesome, hearty meals. Once I can get back on my feet financially, I am really looking forward to purchasing your new book. During this quarantine, I have cooked almost daily using my Weber grill. I have prepared “poor mans burnt ends”, meatloaf, cornbread, hot wings and a slew of other dishes, all on the grill. Once I can get my hands on some decent apples, I am going to bake a Dutch apple pie on the grill and make some home made ice cream with my two boys. Would love to get me some Ariat attire for the family and I. Keep up the awesome work you are doing and may God bless you and your family and these United States!

Thank you. This looks so good! My son just purchased a smoker, so I'm going to have to try out the smoked bologna. Spam seems to be a little hard to find in my area right now, but I happen to have a can or two on hand, so I'll be trying those recipes out, too. You're the best. Thanks for the laughs. I hope your knee is soon better.

I can remember my late father sitting by a fire and turning a chunk of bologna on a spit while us kids played in the creek. That was THE best bologna I’ve ever had. Stay safe Kent, Shan Beag and Duke. I hope that knee heals real soon!

I swear there's just about nothing better than spam, frizzled up in a skillet and made into a sandwich. As much as I love the stuff, I've never used it in other ways. So nice too see it get the treatment it deserves. I love your videos!

Well, I must say, I'm truly surprised what can be done with a can of Spam (never would have thought), the beef bologna might be hard to find at this time with all that is going on, but will try to find it. The hash is going to be breakfast, thank you so much. Please keep the great recipes coming. God Bless

I've never had a smoked bologna like that before! But I used to love going to the meat market and getting the good beef bologna and having a sandwich with smushed down potato chips on it. I'll have to try and make the spam meatballs in the dutch oven :D.

Spam is an acronym for specify processed American meat. It is mechanically separated pork shoulder, and it won us wwI. What they won’t tell you about spam is that international sales get the best flavors same as ramen
@Jason-iz6ob4 жыл бұрын
Speaking of ramen. I love dicing up some spam nice and fine, browning it just a tad in a skillet, and then adding it to some ramen.

I am always looking for recipes that i can jazz up stored foods on my boat. Canned food is the primary source for us. Being able to cook some of this stuff on a tropical beach somewhere in my dutch oven would be great. Hardwood smoking might be a problem though. I don't know what palm tree smokes like. Thanks Cowboy for the great entertainment and great food.
