These videos are sooo awesome. They just have to have a back story, so hopefully cowgirlchloe doesn't mind. If she does, I will remove them, but it's the creative side in me. Here's one for this video: June 22, 2022; Released from Cardboardian Transportation Safety Board, Maritime Division (CTSB-M) SUBJ: Preliminary investigation into loss of SS Imbecilic in the Sea of Cardboardia (also Lake Cardboardia) At approximately 1415 hours, 22JUN2022, distress calls were logged from submersible craft registered to the SS Imbecilic, a cruiseship registered to the Nation of Cardboardia. The Cardboardian Transportation Safety Board, Maritime Division, was contacted by Cardboardian Cruise Lines and the government of Cardboardia after 15 survivors and debris were discovered near the last known position of the Imbecilic. The survivors include four (4) who were thrown overboard, seven (7) passengers and crew of submersible #2, one (1) jet ski operator, and three (3) paragliders as survivors. Survivors are being cared for at time of the writing of this initial report, but several have chosen to assist the CTSB-M in an effort to ascertain the cause of the accident. In doing so, several survivors provided critical footage of the actual sinking. One suvivor, one of the only two known crewmembers to survive, Chief Engineer Monty Scott (see biography and qualifications, Appendix A), was on the port side bridge wing when he reported an incredibly loud, dull rolling roar coming from deep within the ship. Chief Engineer Scott stated that in all his years aboard the Cardboardian Naval Cruiser CNS Interprisia, he had only heard that kind of explosion one time and insisted that this could only be the work of an intense boiler explosion, as there is no other piece of machinery or equipment in or on the ship that could have produced "that sound" (Scott Interview, 12:25). Mr. Scott's theory relates to a new composition fuel oil recently released for maritime use. According to his deposition, Mr. Scott indicated that Imbecilic took on the new fuel over his objections, claiming that the new fuel required an overhaul of the paired boiler system used in Cardboardian ships, as the paired boilers were not designed to handle the reactivity of the new fuel. He stated that he was order to "...giver her all she's got!". Mr. Scott refused, set the speed to only 80% of power when he felt several vibrations in the lower hull plates. As he increased to 90% the vibration became palpable and cut power back to 60%. Mr. Scott stated that the captain again ordered him to take the ship to full power (100% rated capactity) and make revolutions for 35 knots. At this point, Mr. Scott refused, turned over engineering to his assistant with orders not to exceed 50% power until he spoke with the captain in person. This was how Mr. Scott came to be on the bridge when the initial explosion happened, causing an almost immediate 18 degree list to port and settling at the stern. As Mr. Scott started back to his duty station, he was thrown overboard. Mr. Scott indicated that he felt this fuel oil too unstable to use in the current paired boiler system used on Cardboardian vessels and is why the Cardboardinan Navy rejected it during trials (see CTSB-M Investigation CNS Tunguska incident #21-3451). The three other survivors found in the sea either jumped or were thrown over board (See Appendix A, Murdock, Jameson, Williams). Questioned separately, each recounted a similar story. At approximately 1355 hours, there was a significant shaking in the floor (Murdock, Williams) and a rumbling from beneath their feet. Ms. Williams, an avid Titanic afficionado, went on deck to see if the ship had "hit something" (Williams, 5:41). Mr. Murdock and Mr. Jameson, in the pool hall, exited to the promenade deck and felt an "intense, pulsating vibration" (Jameson, 3:42) in the railings. Initial suspicions are that this pulsating vibration is the same vibration that Chief Engineer Scott felt and caused him to go to the bridge and confront the captain. One paraglider, being pulled, was not aware of the goings on at this time, but submitted his GoPro footage while he was in the air approximately 1000 feet from the ship (See PG Video Submission #1). Video shows the Imbecilic listing to port and settling at the stern. Smoke is seen bllowing from all upper ventilation on the ship's Promenade Deck (top deck). This is clearly coming from inside the ship's lower hull, as these are the ports for lower hull ventilation. Further, excessive smoke from the stack, as if the ship is at maximum speed when in fact she is motionless. Numerous explosions are heard from inside the ship and virtually all of the ventilation ports are blown from the ship (PG, 0:22). Pillars of smoke exit the #2 funnel, hot enough to discolor and actually burn it. This is belived to be the cause of the funnel fail at 0:50. Smoke exiting the prow, near the forward flag jackstaff indicates that a continuous opening from the ship center to the bow. This would indicated that the intense internal explosion likely blew open the bulkheads forward the #2 funnel. The paraglider indicated that he absolutely could not believe what he was seeing and continued to film as the jetskier continued to try and move away from the ship. The submersible, #2, was a sightseeing submersible used by the ship for underwater sightseeing. Approaching the hull, the occupants heard a "...thunderous rolling boom" and after a few minutes, saw the stern of the ship settling (See Sub video submission #1). The submersible crewmember, realizing the danger, moved the submersible away (See Yeoman Rand interview). several passengers reported seeing people inside the hull underwater and were horrified. Upon closer note, the CTSB-M noted extreme flexion of the bottom hull (Sub video, 1:10) and what appears to be a complete failure of the bottom hull at 1:27 and 1:39 beneath the #3 funnel as the ship fully submerged beneath the water. This is indicative of a complete keel collapse and buckling of the bottom hull beneath and between the #2 and #3 funnels. The suction began to pull the submersible closer to the ship's hull. The CTSB-M believes the only reason the submersible was not sucked into the side of the hull was that Imbecilic had fully filled with water as it settled. SS Imbecilic sits upright, on approximateky even keel with the stern 1/3 bent to port at approximately 1800 feet. Extreme Promenade Deck damage and stern well deck buckling, indicating significant internal structure collapse, ostensibly from the extreme heat created by the fire and blast. CSTB-M believes that most of the passengers and crew were killed in the initial blast. CTSB-M initial findings indicate that a multiple paired boiler explosions caused a complete collapse of the keel and internal structure of the hull and causing external port side damage, permitting uncoltrolled flooding of the ship. cause of the fire is still undetermined at this time. The investigation is ongoing and final findings will be published at the conclusion.
