The calves are looking good. Yep, those UTVs are very handy to have on the farm/ranch. Funny thing is after having one, you find yourself wondering how you every got along without one. LOL Always good to be thinking & checking into options for farm/ranch diversifications. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.

Nice looking calves! My grandpa always said, don't plant when the soil is cold, it will only hurt your bottom line. Some in our area have started planting early because they have more ground than they can actually handle. MB BAR RANCH
@PrairieSunsetRanch4 жыл бұрын
Martin Benton, That pretty good advice. Exactly some guys may have to start this early just to get a crop in they have so dam much land to cover. Cheers 🍻 & see you again soon!

Great video! That sucks that your guy's slaughter houses are closed. I do freezer beef sales here but not on the scale you can do it. I only fo about four to five cattle a year. I definitely could sell way more but I don't have enough pastures for the cattle. Your cattle look very good. Keep up the good work!
@PrairieSunsetRanch4 жыл бұрын
The Hobby Farm , Thank you. We are currently pondering the idea as we literally have ppl asking us all the time to sell them a half beef! Do you find it fairly profitable? I have never sold freezer beef.
@TheHobbyFarmHomestead4 жыл бұрын
Prairie Sunset Ranch yes it is profitable but we mainly do it to keep our freezer full and to buy the next year feeder cattle.

Another Great Video!!! Is that your last year calves? Are they all heifers or is there any steers in there? Can't wait to see more! ;)
@PrairieSunsetRanch4 жыл бұрын
Anne Gable, Yes they are all last years calves. They are all Heifers with the exception of 4 that are steers, those we didn't have room for in trailer last auction run before this whole COVID Pandemic. I have lots more videos coming up so stay tuned!! Cheers 🍻 my friend.

So that’s the first sheep I’ve actually seen are you custom grazing them for somebody and they just got there or are those actually yours
@PrairieSunsetRanch4 жыл бұрын
Michigan Hay Sales , Those loud guys are mine! We actually had lots of them initially but as the cattle herd grew we cut back on the sheep.
@french-canadianfarmer50494 жыл бұрын
Selling beef yourself is an option but it is a big job. Farming is a full time job and marketing is another full time job. It’s fairly easy to sell 5 or 6 but when you get to higher numbers the work begins.
