@@TheFarmGuyis there some other design for feeding rings that would be worth considering? Like one two or three times as tall? ..to prevent them from getting in? I have seen longhorns get their heads stuck and wondered if there was another way like some sort of really wide opening covered with rubber tire tread except for a stretched out X shape with the normal hole in the center -- so that at least they could get out of they pushed their head in, but if they got stuck they wouldn't tear themselves up as quick ? Maybe that wouldn't work ... I know sometimes every solution creates multiple additional problems...

i've not long since taken a job on a farm, and one thing noticed almost immediately was the way each cow, each sheep, each chicken, dog and goose all have their own unique characters, and the fun we have together is immense. sadly, i understand the end point for the sheep, but i can take some solace in knowing these sheep at least have some fun playing eith me, and they're treated as well as you can hope for. i just enjoy spending time with them, and it seems to be mutual.

I'm glad I never used a ring rack. I just lined out Sweet Feed, Range Cubes, 500 lbs Syrup Block. Dropped out a Mineral and Salt Block. I had too much to keep up with Barbwire Fencing with Gray Brahmas. They liked Fence Jumping. caught them by one ear and walked them back. They just wanted attention from time to time.

Yep, and it's not just cows.😅 An uncle in Nittany Valley was astonished one morning to see a huge "circus truck" pulling in....a camel was down, and they needed to unload the others so they could help it back on its feet. He opened his barn for them but they said he'll have to move his mules somewhere else because they can't stand camels. To which he replied, they're in their stalls, they can't go anywhere! Well, the camels where brought in, and the mules fled.😂😂😂scrambling out through spaces where no mule should ever be able to fit through! 😂😂😂

When you try to get in the middle of something like this your asking for a whole lot of trouble and possibly a couple days in the hospital. Sometimes its better if you just back off, let her calm down and she will get out on her own.

We found one of our small steers in our hay feeder just a couple days ago. My husband was scratching his head wondering how he was gonna get the steer out when he got himself out. Gotta love cows. I had one that stuck its head through a swing and continued to eat grass and walk along until it felt a slight tug on its neck. Not being deterred, it continued eating grass and walking until it heard a loud bang behind it. Of course it ran, dragging the whole swingset behind it.
