OMG! Adler with the gloves on his feet & the shoes on his hands, just made my day! What a smart little boy he is. It was so silly & it made me laugh! I hope he is better soon as he sounded a littles raspy. Nice shelters you are building for the animals & I hope they use them. It's a little scary watching that much beef that has horns running towards you for cubes, though.

And I know the other boys (and Raye) are benefiting from that too! I really like what you are doing man. I spent a lot of time showing my kids how to get real dirty and enjoy it. Hello Adler farm fam From SE Ohio , we give our chickens oats in warm water in the winter when the weather gets colder and daylight hours are shorter. They continue to lay !! Not as many as in summer but they will lay . Lovin what you’re doing on your land !! Little Adler is adorable !! I love your conversations !! Makes me smile. Awesome shelter ! The animals will instinctively go and do what they need to do to stay warm !! Thanks for sharing your life on videos for us to enjoy your journey !! God Bless !!

I like the structure for the cows and donkeys but I agree with you about the part you just added. I think you should build another the same size as the first one. I love how Bruce really gets two meals. One with the alpacas and another with the cows. He just is all over the place. Adler is adorable as usual. He wanted to go and find the bones from that chicken hawk!!

Tin on the top would be great. Dig footers down 18 inches and do 6 rows of block or 36 in tall and then put structure on top of blocks. Might take a week but it will be there for a while. Rebar in the footers to keep wall from blowing over. OR just put slate underneath panels to keep from rotting

I think that the shelter is a good idea and making two separate ones may be better so that way if the cows want to get in one and the donkeys want to also they can have their own building . As for the goats they will more then likely go into which ever one has the most room .

Suggest you leave the corners open...so air/wind can pass thru and not take the structure with it, look into a wind sock..can give you so much information as to how strong the wind is blowing and can be used to gauge what to wear for the weather that day!

** I watched out of order 🤦‍♀️ But it still applies 😂 Hey Chad, not sure what exactly you feed the chickens but a feed is a big deal when you want to keep them laying. Yes, you will need a light (there are lots of options) but they will need food in the coop when the light comes on so they don't pick at each other until they are let out at sunrise. Hang a head of lettuce for them to pick at, plus offer a layer feed to help keep them warm. Good luck!

With that cold weather You need to start feeding GRAINS Corn helps them generate internal heat which helps them stay warm With that many cows and Donkeys that should bucket even with cubes considering their nothing but compressed Hay Seeing due to the drought there's no grass in the pastures

Yes, we are tougher in Wyoming. It’s 4:25 am on Fri. -8 degrees (feels like -22) with a high today of 16. That said, I really am not ready for winter. My spoiled Alpacas won’t do more than pop outside the barn for 5 minutes at a time! It will likely be another week , at least, before we see 40 degrees again. We did get about 2 “ of snow though, so that’s a blessing.! Adler knows how cute he is doesn’t he? What a heartbreaker he’ll be!

Love your shelter idea! 🤩With a few boards as cross member rafters you could center a 16 ft cattle panel running the length and put a good thick tarp over it. The cattle panel would probably keep a tarp from sagging in snow and rain. Adler makes my heart smile 😍 Also my daughter (chicken lady) said the leds do not work as well as iridescent lights for promoting laying. Perhaps you could run one off a car battery and a timer.
