Thanks guys for sharing this! I'm currently having my first experience with my 2.5yr old heifer "Dalilah" who is due to calf April 7th. So her first time as well! I'm super excited and nervous at the same time. Today I got her in the stanchion for some " training" getting her used to me touching her utter. Our girl is so sweet and is pretty easy going already with it so I'm really hoping her first birthing will go smoothly. I wasn't sure of the signs to look for so I'm thankful for this video! Pray for us lol

Thank you so much for taking us along on this journey. While on vacation in Wisconsin I was lucky enough to assist a mama cow that was having trouble giving birth. We had to put a chain around the legs and help pull him out. It was a once in a lifetime event for this city gal! I will never forget it.

If you tie the paracord to the fence and then to the post, you will not need to worry about dropping it. We tied chains to gates or posts, so we could "lock" a gate open or closed without loosing the chain in the cow pies or footbath.

He's a beautiful healthy calf and mom did a great job, she's a really good mother. I saw on another channel where the mother abandoned her new born calf and it didn't survive . When I was about 10 yrs old I saw our neighbors sow (first time farrowing) eating her live pigs, they were screaming in pain and that has stuck in my memory for 60+ yrs. I think it traumatized me, it was horrible. So happy to see a birth that goes so well.

This year we are 🎉 celebrating my recovery from breast cancer and our 79 th birthdays. We are moved out of the city into a small country town and taking this month off between the garden and enjoying retirement. The cold and winter is perfect for reflection and ❤ love of our new home and friends here. We need this for rest and recovery. We enjoy your channel.

I love this video. Baby is such a sweet girl and Watson hanging out checking on his family is so cool. Such a beautiful calf, he does look strong and energetic. I'm glad he was born before the extreme weather they're saying we're going to get. I'm praying all the animals across the country will be ok. I just went out and did some extra winterizing for my chickens. I hung a heat lamp so that if needed they can get under it. Congratulations on a healthy mama and baby.
