I love Larry! He reminds me of my surly grandpa Jack who has been gone for over 25 years, seeing Larry reminded me of how as the years go by people gone can fade from your day to day thoughts, and how much we can still miss them when a memory is triggered. Grampa Jack didn't have time for beating around the bush and always spoke with the utmost extreme efficiency, least amount of words necessary to make a statement or get his point across... Stong and stern yet a caring, loving and gentle man.

Thanks, Molly. You're going into autumn and we're supposed to be heading for spring. Parts of the country are actually snowed in, mountain passes closed, etc. Many had to be rescued from being trapped on those roads - all in sunny South Africa!

I love driving by the dairy farms here in northern Vt. seeing all those faces watching me. I’ve heard that they don’t like it if you moo back at them. I also hear they have different meanings by their tones and they are very intelligent.

Hi Molly When my sweet corn is done in the garden, I cut off the remaining stalks and haul it over to my neighbor’s cowz too. Cowz LOVE sweet corn and their husks.!!

I can't get over just how different your fields and general scenery is. I live in Calgary, but have sent my career working as an agronomist in agriculture in western Canada. Our prairies, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba were all surveyed on the mile square, 640 acres, called one section and subdivided into quarters 160 acres. Proceeding north from the U.S. boarder we even have correction lines to accommodate for the curvature of the earth. Mile long fields are not unusual and 2-3 mile long fields exist in some places.
