This reminds me of my childhood growing up in Maryland when times seemed simpler. Love these vintage Cox Piper RC kits from the 1980's and love collecting them.

Had all the Cox engines from several .010's, TD 020's various 049's was just so much fun way back. Electric just does not grab me the same way.

Thanks for leaving your comment. If the Cox line is very nice, the quality of those little engines is remarkable. Electric models are not my biggest draw. These little models and micromotors really catch you and forever.

I sure would like to have one of those today! Back in 84"/85" I worked at Cox, had an arrow that I placed .09 man did book! and handle the g-load to, re-enforcing the wing with clear packing tape really kept these foam plane tough. thanks for the video!

A cox baby bee was my first engine. High revs and no torque, but a lot of oil and noise instead. To fly until the fuel is gone and land always in emergency mode, that's training!
@MauricioB71 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment!....in this case there is engine control, but I have also done it as you say, and I agree, yes, it is training!!

Is that a Cox Dragonfly (clunk tank) in that Arrow? Also, sounds like this engine has an exhaust "throttle?"
@MauricioB717 жыл бұрын
Hi friend of CEF !, the engine that has this model is original, it is precisely this one, if it has original accelerator ring too, as it comes with the engine (it is not the Dragonfly), it is Cox .049 RC Bee Engine: coxengines.ca/cox-.049-rc-bee-engine.html

Hey, I'm building a guillows p51 mustang it's about 27 inch wing span. I have a few cod 049's laying around do you think they would have enough power for it ?
@MauricioB718 жыл бұрын
+Riley James Hello, of course !, the cox 049 will carry it well. In my experience I would tell you that you will not atener problems!
@rileyjames33128 жыл бұрын
+MauricioB71 haha thanks man also with the cowl on and the engine having to muffler where does the excess fuel and oil go? Do I just let it build up in the cowl or make holes in the cowl to Help it go out ?
@MauricioB718 жыл бұрын
+Riley James It is necessary to discharge holes for oil combustion drain and not get trapped inside the fairing., You understand?
@rileyjames33128 жыл бұрын
+MauricioB71 yea I get it thanks haha what should be the weight of it by the end for it to fly ?
@MauricioB718 жыл бұрын
+Riley James You can see some of my constructions; in 3.17 minutes, you can see the large discharge port fuel exes; weight in flying order should be around 400-450 grams .: kzbin.info/www/bejne/apKnfYyKod6YpMk
