I have watched a bunch of these install videos and yours is probably the best I have seen. You keep your hands out of the way, and you explain everythign very well and diagrams showing things. Top notch. Thanks. You should create a series to learn different mechanical things so the average Joe can learn more.

Probably the best video on KZbin describing this from beginning to end. I’m about to buy a 2020 GT and one of the things I saw was oil catch cans. I knew of them but never really understood how they worked, if they were necessary, etc. I saw the JLT ones like you mentioned and glad you showed those engineering differences. I’m now confident in purchasing the Ford Performance one, even though it’s double the price. It’s worth it for the design specific part. Thanks so much!

This is designed to be taken off via the quick disconnects and dumped out via the lower side. No mess and dont have to worry about losing tiny fasteners.

Hi Great video Just got one for my 2016 coyote. Any issues with the check engine light coming on?

I have a 2020 f150 and it says the 5.0 oil separator, SKU M6766A50A, will not work on my truck, but the one for the 3.5 eco boost will. Makes zero sense to me. Shouldn’t I get the one labeled for coyote?

Curious question! I have a 2005 4.6 mustang, and I’m curious if this retrofits to it. I see it still has the quick connects.

I think it's possible. You would need to use rubber hose like the Aftermarket ones use on the 4.6l. Assuming the quick connects are the same size, you could cut the plastic line off the quick connects supplied in the kit then just use rubber line from the auto parts store sold by the foot. Then just clamp them on the quick connects with hose small hose clamps. You would need to make sure there is a similar place to mount the separator canister or another place that would work and make sure everything has clearance.

Ford makes this way too difficult. I have a 2021 Roush F150 with 5.0 Coyote V8 and none of the oil separators on the Ford Performance website show that they fit that engine. Local dealer parts guy couldn’t help. Nearest Roush (Ford) dealer couldn’t help. I guess I can either buy a JLT or other aftermarket separator or punt. BTW, all the Ford Performance separators were $255 or more (one is $295) whereas the JLTs are $160. Any help? 😢😅

Buy the JLT, The oil doesn't just cross straight over like he assumes. The PVC side is what you need, the other side is the breather. Also on boosted applications some cans like Mighty Mouse relieve crankcase pressure as well. they sell for both sides but little if any blow by is expected on the other side and if you do probably something is wrong or your running boost and need the MM.

You may want to checkout the UPR Catch Can setup as well. I think it’s a little better than J&L because of the inside design.

How do you like the pedder coilovers? From what I have researched, the driver side of the gt350 can be modified to work on the driver side of the coyote but most that have done it say it never has oil in it so I didn't waste my time for now.

what about the driver's side catch can? isnt EGR suppose to let the oil vapours to recirculate into intake as well?
@natemarcy3939
@natemarcy3939 5 ай бұрын
Ford doesn't produce a catch for the driver side on the 5.0. Only the 5.2 has it which could be modified to fit. The 5.0 crank case intakes from the driver side and exhausts out the passenger side which is why oil comes out the passenger side. Anyone I have seem or talked to that has a modified version for the driver side has no oil in it ever so it's pointless. Maybe a boosted car would change that thought but can't say for sure. EGR is for recirculating exhaust gas back into the motor to be burned a second time. This is mainly for emissions and help fuel economy so they say. Should be no or at least minimal oil in the exhaust.

@@natemarcy3939 thanks for clearing things out. Nevertheless, I tend to observe a carbon build up on the front side of TB plate every 3 months. I thougt it's something to do with that vapourized oil mixture coming from driver's side through the intake. It's a bone stock 14' stang gt with only k&n Blackhawk cai (no tune)

Please someone tell me where to get this for my 2024 f150 5.0

I would think this would work on the F150. Can't say for sure without looking at one in person but most everything is interchangeable between the mustang 5.0 and F150 5.0. From pictures I see online of the F150 5.0 it looks the same as a stock GT setup which this works on.
