I told him he was a little crazy considering he told me that it would be around $45,000 & he was gonna be doing over half the labor.. Well over $50,000 later and 3 yrs of weekends he finally finished it he has his ultimate "Dream Nova"🤷

@@WisdomOverWicked777Rules Differential size is limited in that housing. Even if the guy upgraded from the original 8.5 ring gear and 28 spline axle setup, their options are limited due to that style housing. I had a stroked small block making 525hp at the crank and I “upgraded” my 8.5 10 bolt with an Eaton trutrac differential and 30 spline axles. It held up, but that motor is a fraction of what this one is advertised at. There is a reason why people use a 9inch in big power applications. If this guy is tooling around town, they’re probably ok because they won’t hook. If they hook, that thing quickly becomes the weak link in the driveline.

Cool car. I love those Novas!! Noticed the coolant leak on intake. Hopefully, that's only coming from the thermostat housing and not seaping from the intake. 735hp should be enough to make this car drive fast enough to tear that vinyl top off the roof. Vinyl has no business on the roof of a sports car IMO, but that's a matter of personal taste. 10 bolt rear out back on a 540 with a manual trans is basically a grenade with the pin pulled. Not a matter of if, but when that thing comes apart! :)

I just sold it last year for $12,500.. people like Barrett-Jackson really screwed up the car industry as far as prices go.. I also have a 1967 GTO original 400 motor mystery shift on the floor I picked that up in 1977 for $1,000 dollars,In 1980 picked up a 55 Chevy Bel Air 2 door V8 I got that for $500 dollars.. the 55 Chevy is so nice I take it to the shows all the time if I had a warehouse I could have filled it up with hundreds and hundreds of cars picking them up for $50,$300,$800,$1,000 dollars is the most I ever paid for a car.. they were all drivable cars somewhere in perfect condition some needed some work but they all ran them days are long gone..Really sad how greed takes over not with me.. I probably could have put my Nova on the Barrett-Jackson show and probably got $40,000 and up..Brand New under $4,000 dollars right from the dealership..🍻😁
