man those ARE the best locations for otters! If there's any good pinch points up or down from there such as a dam crossover or something I'd make sure and have those guarded with a 330 as well. Nice catches!

If those links don't work you can look for Beaver Trapping - Snaring Basics, and Beaver Trapping - Snare Castor Mound Set, on my channel. Beaver trapping is pretty straight forward. I've never snared muskrat or mink. For snaring otter you'll want specific otter snares, which are fast and have multiple swivels. An otter is a wild ball of muscle and energy. You need good quality equipment to hold them, and if you can drown them that is all the better.

Thanks, I've watched most of them. Being Native, I've grown up fishing, hunting, camping, and when I was much younger, I spent a lot of time with my uncles and grandfather trapping. But was I was a bit too young then, and regret that I didn't spend more time asking questions and trapping myself. Anyways, I'm poor and lack the means to buy conventional traps, so rely upon snares and primitive "catapult style" killing traps. To date, the fall rain has caused me more grief than anything. Flooding creeks and No hip waders. :-(

+michael ranger Gotcha, snares are definitely a good less expensive option than traps. You can wear beavers out with snares, I really like snaring beavers and you can easily carry a dozen or more

I hope to catch otter this autumn but i nerver find the toillet?!?Do you have some trick for finde the toillet? I have couple beaver dam i hope to catch otter there.

sebastien labbé They can be tough to find. Keep your eyes peeled for little piles of fish scales, thats otter scat. Usually when you see 1 pile there will be more in that area. Especially keep an eye around beaver dams, and bank dens. These are places otters are likely to come out of the water and loaf. If you have some fish ponds or farm ponds with man made dams there will usually be a slide on the dam where the otters are crossing the dam. On the top of the dam near the slide alot of times will be a toilet. Good luck!

+sebastien labbé you should be able to locate some toilet areas by watching the snow too. there will be alot of activity around those toilets. watch for the grass to be matted down and snow to be trampled up
