Amazing otter haul. Those 10 ft rods are cool too but I don't think I want to pack them around!
@briankin5244Ай бұрын
Where I trap there is very little vehicle access you have to hump everything in and out so I use a wire cable fore drowning with a sack of rocks on the end and I fill the sack right at the spot I’m putting the trap so it cuts off a ton of weight. I’ve seen guys leave brake rotors off a car in the same spot and use those year after year as an anchor instead of the bag of rocks.

I have a small creek on my property that I have trapped a few beaver out of before but there are quite a few muskrats in there but I’m not sure where to find houses and feed mats for them any recommendations on what to do or what to look for?
@Northwoods2083 жыл бұрын
On a small creek you probably aren't looking for muskrat houses, they'll likely be bank dens, they just dig up into the bank, look for murky trails in the water, and paths through the weeds, or places where sand and gravel is displaced, and look for little bits of roots and bulbs and other half eaten vegetation in the water and on the shore. It takes a little practice, and soon enough they'll be sticking out to you like a sore thumb

Oh Snap! Commented before I watched the whole vid and realized that you must be in MN?

How do you prep the pelts for registration? I got my first one in a beaver set and not sure what the best way is after skinning. Should I flesh and salt it or just leave it skinned?
