So these can get louder on the iPhone. Toggle off “sound check” in the music app settings. Then toggle on “Reduce Loud Audio” in the “Sound & Haptics” under “Headphone Safety” and set it to “100 decibels” or whatever you feel is right for you. These two tweaks made a huuuge difference for me.

You don’t need to return the old product to get the 15% discount. You can buy these headphones with this 15% discount if you have any of the older sonos speakers - it makes the price much more appealing.

The headband reminds me of the Surface headphones which had a bad problem with the separation of the padding cover from the plastic topper. I've had two surfaces with this problem. I'm going to wait till these have been out for a year and see how well they hold up.

Bought them with Sonos 15% discount at launch. Price is totally fine then for what they deliver. Even the asking price. After a week I can confirm, the only thing that might be annoying for someone is the max volume level. For me it’s still fine. Can live with the maximum they deliver. Sound remains clear and I do like the bass a lot. Powerful and dry but also very clean and never disturbing. The comfort is awesome. The buttons work fine. Btw. that awkward ear cup folding when around the neck, my Bose QC Ultra fold the same way, only upwards.

Great review! Been looking into these as a Sonos guy as well. Thanks for the video. I know a couple other people have mentioned it being unsafe to drive with headphones on, but I just wanted to add that it is actually illegal. One earphone can be used for a call, but one ear must be unblocked. 2 buds in or a set of headphones on is illegal to wear while driving. You can be fined and penalized for it. Also, if you are in an accident, you can be sued for negligence. Id take a look into it just for your own knowledge. Dont want you getting into trouble for that.

I think they are in comparison to Headphones on the market if you are a Sonos customer. The lack of EQ would make other brands be a better option if you’re not a Sonos customer already. Because at the end of the day, the main function is for listening to music and if that’s limited due to the EQ and you’re not a Sonos customer. I’d say get a different brand that are more music capable. But overall they sound really good, really good! But lower volume and no EQ limit these for the average person. But for me, they’re perfect I have Sonos surround on my main console setup

Thanks for the review! I got some recently, and I’m really enjoying them a lot, I have some xm5 which sound amazing (better than the Sonos aces) but I find them so uncomfortable especially working with them on for 8-9 hours day, and kinda got tired of it, so I thought I’d try the Sonos’s and I’m at the stage now where I’m okay with giving up sound quality for comfortability, well especially for long periods of time.

I bought the Red Dragon K668 and the mouse you featured in that 8 month old video recently. Love the mouse, keyboard keys are too clicky and overly sensitive. The Tab, shift and other colored keys have a softer "thunk" which I do like. Not sure if there is a mod that would soften the clicks/make the keys less sensitive. When I rest my fingers on the keyboard during gaming, they activate.

Thanks for the video review. I got a pair in black with the 15% discount so about $400 with sales tax. The best sound I’ve heard for music for ANC. I’ve had the 2 latest versions on Bose, Sony’s latest, Focal Bathys and B&W PX7. Will be testing noise canceling on an upcoming flight. So far so good. @@CoZChristopher the PX7s were well built but not as comfortable as the Sonos cans. I did not have them at the same time but the quality of the music playback with the B&Ws wasn’t that much greater than the Bose which have been my go to up until now. I find the separation of instruments in the soundstage the difference with the Sonos. I Can distinguish each instrument without any one area overwhelming the rest. I have 2 Beam 2 so I’m waiting for the upgrade to be able to pair through with-fi to hear the atmos sound from the soundbar transferred to the headphones. The Sonos are now my go to ANC cans for music.

I have both. I can say the I think both of them are quite comfortable and they sound great. The Airpods Max’s cups fit better on around the ear, in my case and the sound seems more even, but with more bass. The Sonos Ace are very light and sound pretty good also, a little warmer and I feel they have a bigger element separation than the Airpods Max. To be honest, I’d say they are quite similar tho, and you’ll be satisfied with either one of them. Hope I’ve helped in easing your mind a little

@@CoZChristopher I feel like for daily use the B&Os are fashion over function. Plastic cups are better as the metal scratches and do not look good. The volume on the B&Os are softer than most other headphones even though they have premium prices. The reason I like the Sonos is that it sounds nice for me, I don’t really use their app. They block allot of noise even when switched off the cushions block the noise but they are also a tighter fit. Great battery and build, my second option would have been AirPod Max’s but I am so trying to not get everything Apple even though I am currently using their phones. Will look out for your thoughts on Astell and Kern. 👍
@Kaniac47
@Kaniac47 5 ай бұрын
I have had these since the day of release and I agree with you about the volume. Overall I really like these but I hope Sonos can increase the volume capacity with a firmware update along with expanding the EQ. Also, another reviewer I watched said he contacted Sonos about the cups only turning in one direction and according to him they said it was because of the way the headphones are internally wired.
@CoZChristopher
@CoZChristopher 5 ай бұрын
Ahh that makes sense on the internal wiring, especially since there seems to be an effort to be lightweight compared to the competition! They would want to minimize internal components as much as possible. Do you think the volume limitation is due to potential distortion at higher ranges? I’ve seen headphones be amazing up to about 80% capacity and then lose themselves as they get higher. I was thinking maybe it’s purposeful to respect the balance and mix. Which could also be why they released with such limited EQ. It’s away to control initial response and feedback. I think we’ve all agreed the mix is pleasant. If they would have opened up the EQ and volume we might all have varying opinions. I could see that, especially with a brand new market offering. I do like them a lot though! If Apple releases Pro Max version 2, I’ll be anxious to see what they are and will of course HAVE to buy them now too haha!
@Kaniac47
@Kaniac47 5 ай бұрын
@@CoZChristopher I hadn't thought about the point you make about the distortion, but that does make sense. I have noticed that the volume level does also fluctuate depending on both what I am listening to and the source. For example, last night I was listening to EDM on KZbin music and it had very good volume (and bass). Still, there have been other times such as when I was listening to a classic rock song on Apple Music and the volume seemed noticeably lower even though I had it set to the same volume level. I saw a post on Reddit about a live Q&A that Sonos had about the Ace earlier this week, and according to the poster, regarding an advanced EQ, they are exploring the possibilities based on user requests but the reason they didn't have it upon release is because Sonos was proud of the sound out of the box. They are also supposedly going to add the True Cinema and audio swap for the Beam/Ray in the late summer/early fall.

Please, please don't wear ANC headphones with ANC enabled when you are driving! You won't hear emergency vehicles approaching, you won't hear motorcycles, and generally your awareness will be reduced for the minor inconvenience of having to listen to the kids. It's not worth the extra risk it puts to you and other road users.
@CoZChristopher
@CoZChristopher 5 ай бұрын
Hey, with all due respect, please ask a few questions before you make assumptions. I grew up riding dirt bikes and motorcycles and have successfully rode for 20+ years. I have taken many defensive driving courses, and riding training at advance level courses and no longer rely on my hearing to determine traffic safety. I learned over 20 years ago to SEE, Search, Evaluate, and Execute 12-18 seconds down the road, etc. because hearing is not reliable to give you the proper heads up to a danger, or a motorcycle going 150MPH while passing you in Atlanta traffic. I check all my mirrors out of training and habit, every few seconds from different vantage points by leaning forward to check my blinds spots, I study the front wheels of cars on the road so I am alert to their movements before, or in the event they don't signal before moving, etc.. I am an active driver, I don't zone out behind the wheel! My second thought to this, people who are hearing disabled/impaired navigate our highways safely daily, it is inaccurate, and a bias to assume they are unable to drive safely without hearing. Not having the sense of hearing, makes you hypersensitive to the things you see and a more active defensive driver. Lastly, my children, are not an inconvenience! I can't control if you heard that within the light hearted joke I told, but that was not what I said. I respect, and understand what you are saying, and yes, this may be true for a lot of people, but it is not a universal truth as taking technology out of the picture, people navigate this world daily without the ability to hear. I respect your opinion for sure, much respect and thank you for stopping by. But, I feel, this statement is based on bias and your personal experience. I would have happily shared "why I feel comfortable driving with ANC," if you had asked. Even in the clip that my wife took of me, I might have checked my mirrors and road cameras three to four times in that 8 seconds or so :)

@@CoZChristopher Apologies, I wasn't trying to be a dick - and agree that hearing impaired people can drive fine etc. I just genuinely believe that all your available senses should be engaged when driving, and if you have good hearing, it's definitely useful in a lot of situations on the road. Yes, I'm a Dad, and believe me there are times I would have loved to tune the kids out when they were younger! Actually now they are teenagers it can be even worse with their friends in the car! I even had a section in the video around using the USB-C cable to get the lossless audio. But, I also wonder if that matters what player you use? I agree, driving without the ability to hear around can be dangerous. I grew up riding motorcycles and have had several defensive driving classes, workshops, and Motorcycle safety courses. These teach you to not rely on what you hear, or even see to an extent, but to constantly "Search, Evaluate, and Execute" SEE safe practices while driving. So, I review my mirrors every few seconds, and search ahead for danger among many other things. I've done this for a long time and have built up very strong safety reflexes and practices.
