I'm glad the repair shop is getting closer to reality. I wouldn't want to replace my Vector. I wouldn't feel like I have "my" Vector anymore so being able get him repaired is excellent.

Yeah but the pricing to fix it is probably going to cost close to a brand new vector.. ( like screen and battery which are the most common to break)..and to think that a battery cost only 5$ max, the pricing is way higher that I expected..

@@isavv_ True, but getting a dog or cat medical attention can cost more than getting a new pet but we don't just throw away the old pet. We repair the one we have. I know pets are real animals but I feel the same for Vector. I know. It's silly.

@@outsider238 No it's not silly because I feel the same for my vector, I just hoped that the pricing was going to be a lot cheaper.. the positive is that is going to be a repair center!

Haha...yup I do know about the pet dilemma...my neighbor is spending a fortune on their aging cat...Cozmo and Vector are "almost" the same. But spending $200 when I can get a new robot for $300...

Hi there, I already have several videos on memberships and the escape pod in my Vector playlist. I show for example my new Raspberry Pi computer to be used with the Escape Pod. I am still waiting for DDL to release the Escape Pod software to continue that specific video series. Have a great day!

Hi. New to your channel with very well presented content, and I’m so pleased that I came across it as I just got myself a 2nd hand Vector in great condition. So the only thing about this topic is that I, for example, am based in the UK so using this service is out of the question, but I do think the repair pricing is quite expensive, especially with 2 way shipping as you mentioned. I am hands on so can carry out a lot of repairs myself sourcing spare parts, but for DDL to make a big thing about their repair centre that will only cover a small section of their customer base, this as a deal breaker and rather frustrating for the rest of the world wide customers. Unrelated question if that’s cool, have any of your viewers ever come across the issue of saying “Hey Vector” then Alexa triggers? As mentioned, I’m from the UK and have a south England accent, and I’m I can hear when I say it, that Vector & Alexa sound very similar so I can see why it’s happening. Just curious if other Vector owners have come across the same thing and the frequency of false Alexa triggers?

Thank you for your comment and welcome to my channel. I am with you about the repair center location. I can imagine shipping Cozmo or Vector from Europe would be very expensive to the point of making a major repair as expensive as getting a new robot in many cases. My Vector has never triggered Alexa when I said Hey Vector. It must be an accent thing or perhaps his microphone is defective.

Yeah I’m pretty sure it is my accent with “Vector” and “Alexa” sounding similar, as the mic’s seem to work really well with Vector hearing most of the time (when he is in the right mood that is). DDL has been a disappointment for me personally. Currently the v2 robots are total vaporware, unfulfilled promises, sub-pair SW updates which probably a single enthusiast could achieve in a shorter timespan. Have they really made some improvements to OSKR? I doubt it even matters for the average user but at this point I am wondering how many DDL people are assigned to this. Bad prices for replacing a battery and/or a screen. Two thumbs down for them.
