is anyone able to educate me about that process of using a gradient map at the beginning? I understand the basics of why you would use a gradient map but why do you think he used it for this portrait? why not just select the area and color fill? maybe I'm missing something here. He said in another video that he uses increase/decrease brush size shorcuts ( keybinded to square brackets by default if I'm not mistaken) you can change them in Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > Increase and Decrease brush size
