Cozy Grove is a game that I like that isn’t farming. Your main objective is to help spirit bears open up and figure out how to help them move on. It’s a really cute game. You can put up trees and bushes for some resources but you don’t make plots, plant seeds, or water them to grow them and it’s not a huge focus of the game at all.
@CozyDesignStudiosАй бұрын
I've heard that one recommended before! I gotta give it a try!

I liked a little to the left. My advice? Play it slowly. When you’re done, put it down and wait 2 months or so to pick it back up. I blasted through it and then replayed it too soon which was way worse a play experience than if I had played a chapter then waited a day before playing the next one.

spiritfarer 100% OMG so cozy. its so sweet n sad and comforting i love it. you run a ship that tranports spirits to the afterlife. you get really attached to them and each character has such a unique story and personality. you can build up your ship and travel the world with them and meet so many other characters. also your character has a pet cat so extra points. this game literally had me in happy/sad tears at the end
@Arkylie13 күн бұрын
Spiritfarer was great until I lost track of some details and couldn't figure out the next thing I had to interact with to move the story forward and then I felt like I was Failing some basic puzzle somewhere or Forgetting some crucial content and the game just became "go to each spot in turn and try to figure out if there's something to react with, while getting Distracted by daily chores, and losing track of which things I've checked, and--" and I lost all interest. Hope to go back to it someday; it truly is an intriguing game with an interesting aesthetic and a lot of heart.

I dunno if this would be considered cozy or comfy to others but one of my absolute fave comfort game series is the Room games (not affiliated or related to the movie). They're these mystery puzzle box games, theres currently 4 games plus 1 VR game. The first game in the series is pretty cheap and its a good introduction to the world but it's sequels are such huge improvements, my personal faves are the 3rd and 4th. The asthetics are spooky but theres no real horror in them, they are very well made and i love them with my whole heart. Im hoping theres another one in the works.

Tiny Glade looks... Extremely good for extremely specific things. (The game that I'd consider if not a cozy game then at the minimum on the periphery is Sapling. An evolution sim where you can design creatures and - in the sandbox mode - watch them gradually evolve over eons. There's a more involved scenario mode where you're designing creatures and ecosystems to fullfil goals, but using the sandbox mode as a sort of virtual fishbowl is the heart of the game for me.

That first game reminds me of the idea I had a while back for a game where you start by building the world, preferably medieval fantasy then you start the game spawning in as the world is simulated. Ecosystems and quests are dynamically generated, quests mainly when something is out of balance for instance too many predators, or not enough food. If the world isn't well balanced it could cause a collapse of different systems.
@CozyDesignStudios3 ай бұрын
Oooo that sounds sick, dynamically generated quests sound like a real challenge but if done right they could be really cool!
@RyanVaterlaus3 ай бұрын
@@CozyDesignStudios all you would need to do is keep track of the number of each animal and a couple other variables, when the population of an animal gets too high or too low you post a quest, do the same for any other type of quest, for instance if a child character moves too far from town then you can have a quest starting with where they left town and have them leave clues like footprints or broken branches with cloth on them. It would be a lot of variables, but if you just have a trigger when certain variables reach certain values you should be able to make a variety of quests dynamically.

Low poly with excellent colors and soft edges 4. Cute character customization! 5. Super chill gameplay that mostly revolves around solving puzzles, collecting items, and traveling the map. There are some more difficult challenges for those who want to push themselves. 6. The music is ethereal, and some of it features the artist Aurora. 7. I’m in between. I *love* farming games but 90% of “farming games” are just doing it to copy Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon. But those copies never have the same polish and finish SDV and HM have. Often it’s added in as an afterthought to an entirely different game, which is fine, but then it gets marketed as “indie games with farming” and I end up in a game *not about farming* with 15-30 dollars less in my wallet
@DeathnoteBB2 ай бұрын
My Time at Portia and Ooblets are two examples, at least I think so. Portia also puts a big emphasis on surrounding regions but I don’t think you visit them in the game itself. That’s fine but the emphasis in-game makes you feel like Portia the game is smaller than it could be, because the allure of “nearby” countries is there. Again maybe I’m wrong, I haven’t beaten it anyway.

I pesonally love Tsuki Odyssey. While it technically has a farm, and you could plant several differnt crops, you could also only plant carrots, which are used as the currency in the game. You collect the carrots and new ones are planted immediately, all with 1 click, and then you can buy cute things to decorate your tree house with, or interact with your friends. They regularly have new seasonal events on, with event specific furniture and decorations you can buy to decorate your and your friends' houses with. And if I don't want to play for a couple of days, I don't.

my non-farming cozy game of choice is called Moonstone Island! Think of it like cozy Pokémon! You are an alchemist who leaves home for the first time and find yourself on a sky island town, where you are tasked with defeating and capturing “spirits” on the other sky islands all around you. The confrontations with spirits are structured like a Pokémon battle, with your moves dealt to you out of a deck of cards. The game has stardew-esque relationship building, and you *can* farm crops, but it’s not massively important to the game, just convenient! As someone who loves Stardew and Pokémon, I think it is so perfect and so underrated, so I take every chance I get to sing its praises!

I love a Little to the Left xD and couldn’t wait that they released Tiny Glade. I heard from Tiny Glade on the Gamescom last year :D

A Little to the Left is such a great game. I'm glad I bought it packaged with both the DLC, but now I'm sad I finished all the puzzles (minus the dailies). Farming in games has always been my least favorite part. I would love it if there were more games where you were a villager doing any other job you wanted and socializing with everyone. It's why I was so excited for the Fantasy Life game that got announced. I'd much rather play a tailor making and designing clothing than growing crops or taking care of livestock.
