Cozy knitting vibes to kick off a gentle January | Knitting Podcast

Happy January, if you can say so.
It´s been a few weeks since I filmed my 2025 knitting reset and plans, so I wanted to do a quick update on how I am getting on with my SLOW knitting, starting the #drkpatterntakedownKAL and some of the colourful projects I have been working on.

For the hat, you can follow the crown shaping instructions from the 2x2 by Anne Gagnon pattern! As long as you your stitch count is a multiple of 8, it should work out 👍

Hola! Your 2025 knits look like you’re off to a great start. For me, the year is starting very slowly- this happened to me last year too. It’s like I cannot decide what to knit 🤔. I’m not worried, I know the knitting will happen .

Wonderful podcast as always Rebeca! Lovingyourknits! I was working on there flap of some cable socks while I watched! And reflected on my own yarn budget and how I can be more intentional! I have a habit of finding patterns that I love and then buying the yarn for the patterns with no space on my needles so then by the time I get to the knitting, I may have gone off the yarn or the pattern. So this year my plan is to not purchase any yarn until I am intending on casting on the project in the hope to reduce the likelihood that I’m not going to be knitting with that yarn.

Hello my dear, don’t be so hard on yourself-I tend to buy yarn with no pattern in sight despite the big library 😂 which is why I am trying to turn it around this year

What really annoys me about the size “inclusive” argument is that it is automatically assumed that inclusivity means larger sizes. I have a friend who is smaller andshe has a really hard time finding adult sweaters to fit her.

hola! I think size inclusivity is a work in progress topic in this field, in my humble opinion. I understand the frustration of finding well-fitting patterns in smaller sizes with some specific designers, but I also believe that offering a wider range of sizes, including larger sizes, is crucial for making knitting more accessible and enjoyable for a broader audience. For this particular designer, their patterns primarily cater to a specific size range for what I have found... so I appreciate designers who offer a wider range of sizes. I hope this helps clarify my perspective.
