Vlogmas wasn't a rough start in my opinion. I have been enjoying them so far! I honestly wish people would keep negative or mean comments to themselves but we know that won't happen. I think if society’s beauty standards weren’t so crazy you would be able to see your beauty. Listen. I’m 34 years old, and I’m honest to a fault (😂). You’re SO beautiful Mel! Also. You do whatever you need to do so you’re comfortable in your body but at the same time work on the mental things that cause you to feel that way. Look in the mirror everyday and find 1 thing you love about you. It takes 14 days to make or break any habit. Look in the mirror and find one thing you love about Mel every day and in 2 weeks you’ll find that you’re looking in the mirror seeing yourself a bit different. 💜 happy holidays Mel, secret bf, and kitties! 😉

Melanie, you are the most beautiful girl on KZbin, easily. I’m gonna be honest with you because I live in an area on the west coast where plastic surgery is HUGE. People who have issues with their bodies and face, etc…literally don’t understand that it’s the little nuances about us that make us extraordinary and unique. They have convinced themselves that a little tweak here and a little job there will make them feel better about how they look. They go to doctors who stand to profit off of doing work on them who tell them “oh yeah you’ll look great with this or that…” and they convince them self that if they do that then they’ll feel great afterwards. But what winds up happening is that since we were made to be individuals they try to become a version of someone else and wind up looking CRAZY because they’ve lost that thing that makes them them. I don’t ever want to turn on a video and feel like “damn, Mel is looking mad crazy out here but she’s only been told that surgery will make her look better.” Nothing can make you feel better because you are already #goals for soooooo many girls. The same way you look at images and compare yourself to whomever is the same way millions of girls look at you and think “damn I wish I looked like Mel…” So please know that NO you’re not chubby (stop saying that shit), nothing is wrong with your face (you’re fucking perfect dude)…You don’t want to wake up one day in 20 years and realize then what I’m telling you now, only to have it be too late because you’ve already screwed yourself up. I’ve suffered with body dysmorphia and it is debilitating and will control your mind if you let it. Don’t let it Mel, see your beauty and love yourself, you’re fucking perfect in your very unique and special way. Love ya girl….😘…..Start to Love yourself please. Words of affirmation out loud everyday help.

This is so true, and I really hope she takes it into consideration. Even when people that do plastic surgery and claim that they are doing it for themselves and not for society’s approval…they don’t realise that those insecurities are subconsciously dictated by beauty standards and images exposed to them from an early age. Insecurities aren’t a thing that you are born with, that come out of nowhere. They are established and imbedded in you from the outside in. The things I used to be so insecure about physically when I was 21 years old, are no longer things I care about now as a 31 year old. Why? Because I stopped giving a fuck about what society told me would make me more attractive. I hope she reaches this place of peace and liberation one day ❤

Girl, your recent talks about your self image really concerned me... from a 20 year old to another 20 year old: try not to pick yourself apart. Try to look in the mirror and tell what you like about yourself. Maybe do a social media detox or at least unfollow girls whose bodies make you insecure about your own. Think about what your body does for you. What amazing things you have already seen and the places you have been because of your body ! That your body does so much for you, every single second of your entire life. It works for you, it keeps you healthy. You obviously keep it healthy as well and that's already a good start! But your mind hasn't reached that place yet but you can get there! Your appearance does not define you. It doesn't make you a better or a worse human being. Also (what helped me a lot): dont pick out single features of your face and think how it is not perfect compared to the beauty standards ! Look at your entire face. My sister has a "bigger" nose with a little bump on it, but I have never heard anyone telling her she was ugly. Because her features combined make a beautiful face ! (she has even had multiple jobs as a model). Her nose -though it definitely does not reach the ultimate "Nose goal" in the eyes of society - characterizes her face beautifully. It makes her face just unique and interesting to look at! not like so many influencers who - at this point - just look alike. Keep your beauty and uniqueness Mel! Keep your ancestors and your wonderful equatorian-puerto rican (I think it were those two countries right???) origin in mind every time you see yourself. I really hope you can - at some point - accept your face and body and be at peace with it. Love from Germany!❤
