I used to work in the thousand islands national park (Canada) and it was magnificent. I’m sure when you get to go you will feel your grandfathers heart there. It is such a large region that made me smile. It’s funny I’ve been to multiple places in your videos and it always makes me feel close to you. Thanks oxo

I was working there summer-fall 1988 (a record-breaking hot drought laden August over the entire east coast/south). Lenny Bernstein turned 70, 8/25/88 and Tanglewood (Boston Symphony) celebrated his birthday that weekend. We often drove down the hill from Lennox to Lee for ‘grinders’ at Joe’s Diner, y’know, of famous rhetorical ‘eat at Joe’s’ fame. Well, on Saturday late PM me and co-worker Dave Adkins (originally from London) arrived to pick up our order, when HolyShit, there stood actor Paul Newman ALSO waiting for his Italian grinders et al.! We bid him ‘Hello, Paul’ as stunned deer in headlights might. He and wife, Joann Woodward, resided at Connecticut there whole lives together. They were salt-of-the-earth famous people, humble and genuine plain nice folks.

My grandparents live in the Thousand Islands, and I’ve been coming up here my entire life. I’m actually about to finish a two week vacation here with my family! It truly is hard for me to envision a more idyllic setting, I’m so happy to see a sleep story about it!

Thousand Island dressing has been my go-to-fav’ on salads since childhood -small world, huh? 🤣 LOL Also, McDonald’s ‘special sauce’ on BigMac hamburgers is a mix of Thousand Island dressing with tartar sauce, ~2:1. it’s a great pairing to add for savoring many other delectables. I like to add drops of Louisiana Hot Sauce to it. Mmmmm! I’m anxious to get my videotapes back from Linda to see our ‘clockwise’ 1-week-trip around The Great Lakes with Niagara Falls back in August 1990, before traveling onward to Drake Pond, Maine, for another week. I gather folks can island-hop by boat to fish and camp all through that area of the St. Laurence R.? I awoke to this compilation this AM. It’s probably my favorite compilation of yours because woods and water are so dear to my spirit; I want to see our Washington and Oregon coastlines some summer.

@@MichellesSanctuary I will eventually know the whole story because some nights are like that, when I don't quickly pass out into a "Michelle-induced lump" (lol).. but I know it's an especially good one if it takes awhile to get to the end haha.. I am remembering that you called something in this story a cute name and I wanted to compliment you on it... but I can't remember exactly what it was ... (a group of kittens? Bunnies?..) I can't remember but whatever you called them I thought was so adorable hahaha 💗 Edit: I looked it up (& also tried to recall from my not-very-conscious mind what I had listened to before) and you called it a "fluffle" of bunnies .. I have never heard that term before & thought you migh'tve invented it haha.... I had a little giggle about it during my sleepy listening..Unfortunately, Google can't decide if Canadians call a herd of bunnies a fluffle or folks that AREN'T Canadians call it that...(2 articles and 2 different answers).. I am not Canadian and had never heard it but I like it... seems to me a sweetly appropriate term!

@@jessicathompson-gautreaux5992 This made me laugh! I was going to write it but yes-- a fluffle! Even my spellcheck didn't know the word. Years ago when writing about dolphins I mistakenly wrote they were a "school" rather than a "pod" and so many people corrected me (some in an unkind way). And I learned that there are different names for every grouping of animal and "fluffle" is truly a cute one! I mean, the word conjures such cozy feelings!

this sounds awesme..i don[t know if your taking any suggestions but if you are looking for any new ideas maybe you won't mind if i make a request for a Fall story.Its me and both my daughters favorite season.we love the apple cider festivals and potato fest festivals here in Pa, along with halloween and fall decorating and buying fall scented candles that smell of warm orange cinnamin roll and the best part is putting on the the oversized hoodie to go enjoy a walk through one of the local corn mazes and taking pictures and picking out your own special pumpkin at the end and then spending another day carving it...i l just love fall,,,i'd love to see you do a new story with the fall season if you would have time or would feel like its something you would enjoy!!hopefully so.i love all your stories..hope you have a great sunday!i can't think of much more comforting than a snuggling up on the couch after trick or treat day in our local little town with a cup of warm cider or hot chocolate and embracing the season.
