Just one?!! I'm going to be a little defiant if that's OK! Peanut Butter Blossom cookies. Soft Snowball cookies rolled in powdered sugar. Mom would put a red candied cherry in the center of some. My eyes are watering so I'll just leave those there. ❤

My mom makes scores of batches of guafrettes (thick and soft, waffle style) with lots of butter and bourbon in the batter, every holiday season! Her great-grandfather (Jules Henrí) came from Belgium, then to France, then to Vincennes, IL USA before moving to WV. I’ll use butter/bourbon in many savory dishes like sautéed chicken, onions, peaches, scallops too.

❤ I almost skipped too. I became gluten intolerant 11 years ago after a major surgery. The surgery had nothing to do with my digestive system! Wow I miss baking during the holidays! After filling a pie crust with pumpkin pie mixture my mom would pour the rest into small custard bowls. I'm going to do just that after making the pie for my husband. With ready-made crust. I'm not super woman anymore lol! I have some buckwheat flour I want to experiment with. But whatever reasons you have to avoid the story I totally support you!❤ I hope, sincerely, you enjoy your holidays as you want!❤

I grew up in the Olympic National Rainforest (Quinault) in WA State 🥰I can’t help but add in “you remember being advised to not touch the giant Devil’s Club bushes” and “you take in the Earthy smell which often includes Skunk Cabbage in the swampy areas along the wooden bridge”. I could go on and on about salmon berries, huckle berries, slugs, and gigantic mushrooms😬

I love the pictures and I only watch videos that have multiple pictures that go along with the stories. One suggestion: you freak me out with your picture in the corner. You don’t need that. We know who you are. 😂 I say this with love.
