A great tip, if you get the urge to go book shopping on this book ban, just go to your library. Check out however many books you feel like/can and act as if you're buying them. You bring them home and if you never read them then you just return them, no pain to your wallet! Plus, it helps out the library. They don't care if you read them, lol, just check 'em out. I’m guessing whoever checked you out at Target is not typically a cashier. The 20% off is already included in the price lol. You didn’t pay full price - whatever you paid already had the 20% off factored in but it doesn’t show as a discount on the receipt. The sticker is more of a trick bc it’s like 20% off compared to other major retailers so whatever price was on the shelf has the 20% off factored in. The red card only gives you an extra 5% off. However there are sometimes deals on the Target app that you can only get with the app or a coupon from the weekly ads. Sincerely, someone who used to work at Target 😂 Id guess your cashier was either new or worked in a different department most of the time but everyone in the store (except for some of the tech guys) get trained on the register before anything else even if they’re not a “cashier”

The 20% off is off of the original retail price not the price on the target label. So if the retail price is 9.99 and there is a 20% off sticker, the price target will charge you is about 8 dollars. You do not then get an additional 20% off as that would then be 40% off. However, a little tip that I used to tell customer is to scan each book in the target app. If the price on the app is lower than the price in the store, they can price match it for you. 😊
