Just a PSA: don't forget that cards like rock slide and Korg actually shuffle your opponents deck. So after you have Copycat in hand, play a card that shuffles their deck, they have a chance to draw that useless card

I would think the best deck archetype to counter Copycat would be a Sauron deck. A lot of the cards will be ongoings that are not advantageous to your opponent or textless if Sauron has been played. Imagine their copycat getting your Red Skull's text!

Last week I was 5 on copy cat, but after thinking about it more I think she's more like a 3 or 4. I don't think she'll need tuning. We tend to forget she needs to replace a card in a deck. She could possibly just be a 3/5 without any benefit, or with one you really don't want. There's more consistent 3 cost cards which premium stats which I think people will choose over this. And sure you gain info, which is good, but if you have no 3 drop, you may be playing her on 3, so they also get that info quite early. Good card, just don't think it's a 5 anymore.

Roundabout anecdote to why copycat will be terribly strong. I’m playing arisehm mirror. Location burns opponents rogue. Their blob eats their Shang and enchantress. My own blob is huge and winning the lane. Their blob is winning another lane. I’m highly likely to win the “contested lane” - snap each way, 8 cubes final turn. They blow away my blob with with the Shang they stole with an early cable. Information asymmetry is massively underrated.

You must get lucky with your spotlight key draws then. I’m the same, played every day since launch but missing at least 12. What sets me back is the when I end up spending 4x keys to get the one card I want, it sucks, especially when you don’t even want the variants. Then it’s back to saving up keys for another month and missing out on new cards.

I think Copycat would be in Surfer in part because it could dominate the mirror. If you get their Surfer, Brood, Abs-Man, Wong, Luke Cage, etc etc etc. That's all insane. Of course, you could also low roll and get a Nova but at least you know that they don't have it available to them.

Giving praise to this card reminds me to all the cards that got hyped as "meta" changers like War Machine, Baron Zemo, Black Swan, Annihilus, Legion, Sasquatch, Skaar, etc. and at the moment those cards dont get almost any play and on the other side, cards that every youtuber flagged as "meh" or not meta changers cards are getting a lot of play, Nocturne, Red Guardian, Cannonball are examples of this, that is why I dont believe any pre release videos until I got real data throught the week they are released, try to avoid de FOMO, you have 1 whole week to think about it.

I see Copycat being very good with a Baron Zemo deck. You can get rid the opponents cheap stuff before drawing copycat. Therefore getting almost a guaranteed good pull. But then there's Arishem 😢.

I would argue that Copycat is not really a disruptive tool. The vast majority of games you play you will not see the bottom card in your deck, So she's "Disrupting" a card you weren't going to get anyway. I think calling her disruptive is a little misleading. She's going to disrupt your opponent in like 1% of games.

Counter argument Copycat is most common in Dark Hawk/Cassandra Nova decks and it counts decks that use Blink/Iorn Lad/Jubilee

I think she'll be popular in mill type deck, Yondu and cable thins out the deck, you can effectively play both zemo and copy cat at t6 which gets their highest costing card

I’m very excited for this card. I am worried about the power level being too high and needing a nerf. Besides a power/cost change I hope the devs would consider a half measure where when drawn Copycat reveals that she is taking a card but not what card is taken. This would make it so both players know the potential and the opponent might not feel as cheated at a completely blind steal (especially after the first couple weeks when people won’t constantly expect it). This would also create more Snap mind games similar to Cable except if your opponent has their combo they know you’re bluffing and you’re screwed. Very exciting time to be a Marvel Snap enjoyer!

as a San Diegan, I have always had AC, but never used AC since you can just open the windows and get the coastal breeze for free. That said, the basement thing is probably because we have earthquakes. I have never really been in a place in Socal or Southwest in general that has basements

The problem with having fun good cards in this game is the playerbase. Everyone is so focused on winning by any means possible that all we do is over-optimize every single deck to be oppressive I.e. turn 4 doc Oct or leech while playing arishem. That's part of the reason why people complain about not having fun anymore and getting burned out

To some degree yes, but prior to release Arishem was thought to be a crazy fun card but probably not very competitive. That ended up being a wrong take, but a lot of people were willing to commit to getting him even if he was not "good".

Basements get excluded in a lot of the US because the soil isn't conducive to just building a room like you can in other places - it costs a loooot more to build a basement in clay filled soil, for example

I'm calling Copycat is gonna flop hard. I don't see why you'd call her ability disruptive when the enemy most likely wont draw their last card anyway? And even if you copy a good ability, sometimes you'll be playing the wrong archetype to make use of it and then she's a vanilla 3/5 with a little info (if you draw her early). I'm calling 3 stars maximum, more likely 2.

you could build a "steal you opponents' deck" and use it against them, use cards like Cable, Mirage, White Queen, Copycat, Baron Zemo and use cards like Youndou and Gladiator to help Widel down their deck. Morph to copy a card from their hand , also can use cards like Red Guardian and rouge to help stop on going cards along with Super Skrull and really play Mind Games with your opponent heck even Leader will be a fun card to play.

I'm going to use my 5 Spotlight keys (if needed) to try and get Copy Cat, especially since I don't have Thanos nor Kull Obisidian so I'll hopefully get good cards regardless. I don't feel like she is going to be as overpowered as people say. She is copying the 12th card from the opponent's deck. A card 90% of the time they won't see anyway unless they have draw cards which there are few. And copying some cards may not go with your deck. Though it is always good intel. Until Copycat copies Copycat, then you get NOTHING. Good day sir!
