Regardless of what the majority of his material is like, I feel that Cole really thrives on these mellow, jazzy, darker, thought provoking beats and songs. Evidence? Premeditated Murder, 2Face, Cold Blood, Knock Tha Hustle, Grown Simba, Before I'm Gone (That 2nd Verse Flames), Trouble, 03 Adolescence, Forbidden Fruit etc. This just seems to be where Cole eats the most imo.

+AGbaby235 he probably won't. He doesn't go above and beyond to be high on the charts. Not saying he's not mainstream, but he's not as mainstream as Drake, Meek, Future, or even Kendrick. The grammy's are more about reputation than good music, and j Cole doesn't have the rep like the others do (which I love)

Cole's second verse was piff, him and cozz really compliment each other on the track. Not to mention that play on words, connecting it all, in the weight watchers scheme when he mentions the fat lady, eight figures, cake stacking, slim chances and knowing the stakes (steaks) in his first verse. This entire song was fuego from start to the 5 minute mark

Cozz & Cole created a moment in hip hop that can not be remastered. You can say what you want, but this is pure classic! Many of you are saying that Cole bodied this but Cozz went hard also. You need to be reminded that Cozz had this song finished way before Cole hopped on it. Cole loved the track so much that he asked to get on it. So the props should go to Cozz for making such an inspirational song that even one of the best emcees of today wanted to be apart of it. If Cozz had heard Cole's verses ahead of time, he would have gone even harder. Cole heard how hard Cozz went, so he ended up dropping bombs. I think you can take a lot from each one of their verses. Don't sleep on Cozz, he can compete with the best!
