CP Rail's Grand Plan

In 1910, the Canadian Pacific Railway had a grand plan for the Nation's Capital which would have dramatically changed one of Ottawa's most beautiful features, the Rideau Canal. In this video, Forgotten Ottawa looks closer at this plan and how it did not come to be.

Well done! Nice to see it ended with the Hot Report of 1915. Interesting that the Ottawa Improvement Commission eventually evolved into the NCC.

Thanks for this. I'm a big fan of Ottawa's railways and am still in mourning over the loss of old Union Station as a train hub! Would you consider doing a feature on the railway system in Hull? It is hard to find any info on the CP Beemer Station and Hull West Station. I was always intrigued by that long detour through Hull that CP had to use to get to Ottawa West Station.
