I feel if we have set dates for elections then, unless it is an emergency (& ego is not an emergency) calling an election earlier deserves a punishment. I vote that the donors to the leader of unnecessary early call of the election can only be able to claim 25% of their donation on income tax returns, not the 100% they can claim. In this example those financially donatining to Ford will not claim the whole amount whereas NDP, Green, Liberal etc supporters can still claim 100%

The last time Canada voted in the Federal Conservatives (Stephen Harper) Ontario had some weird political knee jerk reaction and voted in the McGuinty Liberals. This was followed by the Kathleen Wynne Liberals. Under those Governments the manufacturing sector in Ontario was decimated. Doug is well aware of this so by calling an election now-and winning- there is the real opportunity for Ontario to remain under Conservative stewardship when Poilievre gets elected.
