Great job on the video, I know they recommend oil to lube the o rings, but professionally I like vaseline. I priced a 10mm cp3, it was $1000. More. I’ll do some shopping before I’ll spend that kinda money, 800hp sounds nice but I got my racing bug out when I was a kid. Today’s cost are to much.

I really appreciate the extra effort that you put into getting clear camera shots of critical importance! Thank you! this is totally unrelated, but you look almost exactly like an old army buddy of mine. Probably just a doppelgänger thing, but in the off-chance that there’s a relation, I wanted to bring it up. One more thing I would use blue lock tight if I saw a front washer like that, if it comes loose you are dead in the water and hopefully the nut doesn’t go between the gears.

Cause I was mid 5 before the compounds but have not got to get on a dump! Do you have a Fluidampier? Did not look like it but if I was you I’d be doing that asap specially with the 6speed. You must have factory fuel pump? 46% over injectors, fass 165 with sump
@michaelbarbee45563 жыл бұрын
@@subzero59lt1 yeah it’s all stock. I was looking at cat filter adapter. Old owner said it had 150 % injectors. If I get on it at all it acts like it’s starving for fuel. It’ll cut in and out. Like it isn’t getting fuel.
@subzero59lt13 жыл бұрын
@@michaelbarbee4556 Just save to get either a air dog or fass, skip the cat fuel filter, it will filter better then factory yes, but that’s all it’ll do. After market fuel pump will do the same filtration as the cat and will provide more pressure and separator water from the diesel
@subzero59lt13 жыл бұрын
@@michaelbarbee4556 the old owner is probably telling the truth, those injectors are pretty big and more than likely it’s draining the rail of fuel and the factory cp3 can’t keep up neither can the factory fuel pump. Mine was doing that a little on the hot tune when I had my factory cp3 on, even with the fass 165

Mine wasn’t messed up I just upgraded for more power, but if you have HP tuners on a laptop, you can look at the logs and see if it’s building rail pressure when cranking, try changing the FCA on the back of it

First, thank you for your video, insights and narrative. Great job of identifying 1) the risk of dropping "stuff" into very bad places and 2) the importance of cleanliness. Great Info of High Value. You are a Saint! Second, please forgive my spelling and grammar errors!! Several suggestions and observations follow. Hopefully they prove helpful. They come from my 40+ year old "toolbox"; Lessons Learned from Close Calls, Failures and Hardships. > "Black" Gorilla Tape (Duct Tape on Steroids!): Use tape to seal "openings and gaps" that pieces and parts "want" to fall into. TIP (1) - using tape, seal the gap in the housing, providing extra "loss" prevention. A magnet, pick, etc might still be helpful. TIP (2) - before "loosening" fuel connections, use spray cleaner and a nylon brush (tooth brush?) to remove oil, grease, debris. TIP (3) - when ready to disconnect, pre-stage clean rags (heavy duty "blue" shop paper towels) and strips of Tape to dry then tape over newly exposed contamination "points of entry". > SEALS (rubber, silicon, etc.). Never never never use a metal "tool" to remove any seal. Even if the old seal is being replaced. Why? It is essential that the integrity (condition) of the "sealing surface" remains pristine! Using a "handy" metal "tool" for seal removal will damage the metal, plastic, elastomer, etc. sealing surface 99% of the time. Wooden Skewers and plastic rods are ideal tools for removing seals without risking damage to the sealing surface. For an o-ring or square seal installed on a shaft, using fingers to gently pinch along the circumference will "distort" a portion of the compressed seal enough to allow for capture and removal without damage. > CRUSH WASHERS. New crush washers are cheap. For Safety reasons, used crush washers should NEVER be reused. Leaking or failed joints on high pressure fuel and hydraulic systems can be very expensive and dangerous.

Was it worth the money compared to doing one of those box of parts
@subzero59lt13 жыл бұрын
@@arnoldmiller3120 I would say so, because of my goal for the truck. Not sure if the bag of parts would have been able to reliably put out what I would ask of it. This 10mm DAP cp3 is the cheapest on the market so an extra 600 or 700 bucks was worth it. Not worrying about draining rail pressure issues and I can go with a little bigger injectors down the road.
@jimjanik7203 жыл бұрын
Very good video. What is the name and model of the pump you used? And did you have to clock the cp3, meaning did you rotate the motor to top dead center before doing it ?
