@Farrah Claire Barry Agreed but my point is that people are calling her “tone deaf”. She is not. Tone deaf is where people cannot hear pitches to properly match their voice to the note and fluctuate with it. They are a “one tone fits all musical notes” type of person.

I played trumpet for 10 years before going to college for music. A year into my degree, I realized, while I could read music, hear and identify intervals and triads reliably, and could pull middle-C out of thin air, I didn't have what it takes to really comprehend music theory. OMG I shouldn't have started happy hour early before listening to this. Sheer brilliance young lady! My poor beagle won’t stop howling because she thinks there’s a wounded woodchuck in the chimney behind the TV! Just like Trump, the song may be over - but the “malady” lingers on. Who knew that such a bowel stirring rendition was even possible? Conservatives couldn’t have found a better hot mess of an introduction for Trump even if they had tried. Let’s just hope & pray that they find someone else to sing at his upcoming Marth 4th re-inauguration otherwise any self-respecting flag will be running for the closest gasoline can.

Rachmaninoff is pretty accurate! Although I'd say the rhythm may be a bit more inspired by Bela Bartok! That said, your chromatic progression at "rockets" is my favourite single moment of this whole thing so far! I can not get enough of this right now!! And as I typed that, I heard the trill mentioned by Chaz in another comment. I feel like I'm going to die of laughter like the hyenas from Who Framed Roger Rabbit tonight!

I've listened to several of these now (listened, yeah. I've winced through several of these now) and this one is the best. More nuance and complexity than the others. How you guys can figure out these key changes and then actually play them is genius.

This singing reminds me of when a friend, who is a professional musician, asked me what key I'd sing a song in, for karaoke. Having no knowledge of music whatsoever and absolutely no singing ability, I asked her if I could start, then she could set it... But of course, I'd never perform anything in public. This was singing in a friend's basement. Beautiful job playing the piano was phenomenal.
