Chrystia Freeland discusses Donald Trump’s U.S. election win - November 6, 2024

Speaking at her weekly economic update on Parliament Hill, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland discusses the results of yesterday’s presidential election and the impact a second Donald Trump presidency may have on Canada-U.S. relations.
The minister also announces that nearly one million Canadians have opened a tax-free First Home Savings Account (FHSA) to save for a down payment on their first home. The FHSA was introduced in the Liberal government’s 2022 budget.
