I know what you mean, all cartoons nowadays are all about "being yourself" and "accepting of others". Not that there isn't anything wrong with that stuff but I just see that stuff in literally every cartoon nowadays. I want adventure to come back in cartoons, not "real" issues.

Its a shame they never did more specials based around this version of the characters. The voice acting and dynamic between both Raggedy Ann and Andy was brilliant and the humor works perfectly. This is one of those franchises that could really go for an update or movie. It might have seem impossible before but With Barbie killing it at the box office. Maybe there is a Future for RAAA .

Coming off the raggedy ann musical film to this, I'm disliking the squabbling. I prefer the dolls to get along unrealistically because they aren't humans; they're dolls. These sour expressions and naysaying... its not very fun. .

I wish these two would come back! They seem to have the spirit of adventure that is lacking in cartoons these days. Nowadays it's all about "big mysteries" and "be yourself". Not that there isn't anything wrong with that stuff, but it seems to be the only thing I see in cartoons now!

I wrote and posted this on another person's comment but am repeating it here because I saw a few comments made about the Annabelle movie. In the original stories of the two rag dolls they were wholsesome, kind and loving dolls who were full of good cheer and a love for adventure. They would often venture into the deep deep woods where magic and fantastical creatures abided. They were always helping others and were even kind to others who were bad. The bad ones would always see the error of their ways and become good people thanks to the love of the two rag dolls. The books were wonderful and made the dolls loved by millions. It's a shame it was tarnished by a story of a doll that even though claimed to be possessed by an evil spirit, has no real evidence of it being so.

I grew up watching this on VHS every year and now I’m 27 and I still watch it every year, whether it’s Halloween or not... XD This was my only Raggedy Ann and Andy as a little girl and I used to sit in front of the TV with my mother’s Raggedy Ann doll and watch this. I sometimes wish I still had her... That was a 1970’s Bobs Merrill Raggedy Ann. I think she was anyway... all I know is Annabelle looks just like her and even has the same dress.

🎃👻🐈‍⬛ 🧟 One of the things I miss throughout the 1980s was the greatest halloween cartoons that they use to show on television back then. It didn't matter if they were black and white, old ones, new ones or even classics they still had played them and they were the best to watch. Miss watching these type of cartoons big-time, how can I not. They were a part of my life growing up as a young kid/ teenager. I do remember these two cartoons here pretty great and I enjoyed watching them too. I think they need to give us back what is ours and leave everything else alone. Put things back the way they it use to be but I doubt if they would. I also will admit i miss being a 80s kid

I can remember "The Great Santa Clause Caper" but sooo little of "The Pumpkin That Couldn't Smile." One scene I remember was Aunt Agatha being mean to the trick-or-treating kids. I also remember the Cricket specials, also produced by Chuck Jones. The last time I saw one of those specials was in the school days, where we kids saw the one with this kid adapting the cricket as a pet. This was on a 16mm film, before VCR's where catching on. Also, the time when I know that the cricket name was Chester.
