Honestly you can't really knock ads because ad revenue helps pay website use and whatnot. Also the monetization is likely to change since they are going to operate at a loss, once their twitch money runs dry, they will need to change the monetization model to be profitable

My biggest worry about Kick is chat moderation, Twitch has intergrated Mod tools that help protect smaller streamers that don't have assigned mods in their chat, I don't see anything on Kick protecting the streamer from abusive or toxic chatters.

As long as you're recording your desktop audio like the default audio settings for OBS then discord should automatically get picked up

Sad the emotes were not mentioned. A Friend of mine started streaming on kick and they were able, even before becomming affiliate, to set up 50 Emotes. While on Twitch you need to be affiliate to just get 5 free emotes that are only usable on your channel, if i remember right.

6:10 what do i think? in terms of what? the video? the twitch vs kick ordeal? both? :b i'll just say both cause why not. the video? amazing as usual; and much appreciated!! now, the twitch vs kick thing. where do i even begin? my first and biggest issue with twitch has been the hypocrisy with their rules. i personally do not care what the rules are but they should apply to everyone, not just those that are smaller creators (you know, the ones making them less money comparatively)..secondly, i feel like 50-50 is pretty stingy. granted, the 95-5 kick seems too nice :b. i feel like the 70-30 youtube offer is the most fair/equal. i understand companies need to make money in order to keep the site running, pay their employees, etc, but 50-50 is an overkill. my next issue is the sponsorship rule that caused many to leave twitch to begin with. they supposedly reversed it and said sorry. but are they really sorry? or are they just sorry cause they got caught tryna pull a fast one on their creators? i took a bit longer making my way to kick. not only did the thought of starting over make me sad [nearly 3 years on twitch working hard nearly every day], but i didn't trust kick either. one platform was a hypocrite with their rules and the other seemed like their were no rules [which is not good, imo] :b. however, between the two, if i had to pick one, kick is seeming more promising. i have only been at it one day so far; but i am liking it. my community and i can do without the extensions; but i will say the channel points were a nice feature as well as the hyperlinks and bold/bullet point text options for the profile. those are the two things i am missing the most; but again, not worth staying with a company like that over. oh yeah, and the vod export to youtube was nice too :b. however, i feel like kick will implement these things or things similar in a matter of time. for being new, i think they are doing a great job :).

The split on twitch isnt 50/50 unless your one of the top streamers. For everyone else whos affiliate or above the split is 70/30. Twitch getting the 70. Unless they just changed it back and im wrong. If so my apologies but i think its 70/30 right now unfortunately

Its interesting that the only "bad" things that Kick doesn't do compared to Twitch, are stuff that Kick hasn't implemented yet, because of it being in beta. Imagine months or even a year from now, Kick implements most features that Twitch has, and possibly more... Then that "could" make Kick, on paper, seem like a much better overall place to stream on. Great Video! c: Even if Kick doesn't have Bits (or well.. Kicks) yet and generally lacks feature due to beta, it is still by far the better choice for me, as I've just recently did my first ever proper stream on there and you can definitely feel the difference in regards of exposure - since, as a new Streamer on Twitch, you would just be a very very small fish in the pond with millions of other fishes. While on Kick I basically can be in the top 20 (or even higher) in a Category. It's honestly just such a greater opportunity to stream on Kick rather than Twitch for small or newer Streamers. And in regards of the payout system, that's a big W on Kicks end. I hate how platforms make you meet requirements, even though it's money from other people trying to support YOU. Also much love on any of the Topics you covered in regards of Kick so far, you helped me a lot setting everything up!

Because you said that I can multi stream on more than one platform when streaming on Kick, maybe I should stream on Twitch on Friday and Saturday. And when it’s Sunday, I’ll just multi stream on Kick. Maybe I can get discovered more. Sounds smart, don’t you think?

On the surface, this seems great, but from a business POV, I have to ask WHY are there no ads on Kick? Like Ads are scaleable revenue that will be a massive earner for ANY platform...so the only reason I can think that Kick has no ads is cause no companies want to be associated with that platform... which from a Creator's POV is really bad cause it means you are extremely unlikely to be sponsored.

Likely just a way to entice people to switch to the platform for the time being, wouldn't be surprised if they implemented ads later

@@CpawsMusic from what i am hearing from branding companies (like Devin Nash from Novo), advertisers are actively avoiding Kick. I also read a Dextro article that Kick has just been banned in Greece for "providing unauthorized gambling services". I really hope Kick does well cause good competition benefits all content platforms, but other than the money splits, I am hearing a lot of bad things from the business POV.

biggest advantaga of twitch over kick for me i that you can seperate the music from the vod in obs so you can stream with dmca music. as far as i know this is not possible yet if streaming on kick..

I highly hope Xbox is able to stream in kick without the use a current twitch account and not having to wait years before being able to stream (like the long wait after mixer was shut down and then the painful wait before Xbox was introduced to streaming on twitch I hope that doesn't happen again MICROSOFT)
