That's why a person _must_ be considered innocent until proven guilty. Human nature is to become emotional and irrational and find the nearest convenient scapegoat. Police are trained to try to maintain objectivity and not jump to conclusions while investigating. Even if you arrest someone under suspicion of a crime, they have to be considered (and treated) as possibly innocent as further investigation or trial might exonerate them.

@@melissaharris3389 You know I once got hacked for saying something like this. It was about an actor that was rumoured to hit his ex and everyone was dogpiling on him. I basically said that we shouldn't automatically believe the "victims" since everyone is innocent until proven guilty and that false claims have happened before. I also recently saw a recap about a movie where an Indian man is suspected of being a terrorist and people try to kill him even though he didn't do it.

What is the song called in the background don't know what it is called poor boy's family. This case hit jay halstead the most as the new technology didn't work on certain mix race (skin). He felt bad when the innocent man died as he thought it was him who did the crime. The way voight says its been dealt with that raises a question what did voight do know. It turned out that he sent a group of bloke's to beat up the real criminal to death(sorry for the spoilers)

​@NathanTemple-Bird basically these kids were the sons of a gang leader. One of his top lieutenants decided to steal guns and money from his leaders home. Those 2 kids were there so he killed them to prevent any witnesses from identifying him as they knew him. The guy they observed was the guy who killed those kids. The one Hank talks to saying "who kills a kid even in our world". Since they don't have enough proof, he let's the gang kill the man responsible.

The 2nd man named 'Prophet' 4:00 , who also ordered the attack of the falsely accused Marcus West in lockup to cover his tracks. Prophet gets attacked by an angry gang and killed at the end of the clip once the truth got out. Although the public still thinks the now dead Marcus is guilty, and the police force doubled down on accusing Marcus, rather admit fault that they were wrong and the new facial recognition tech that resulted in Marcus' wrongful death couldn't be trusted.

Unfortunately, its documented that a lot of modern facial-recognition systems have problems reliably identifying non-caucasian faces - the reason being that during their testing phases, they're mainly tested against caucasian faces, and so tweaked to the intricacies of those types of faces. As a result, african-americans, asians, indians, people from the middle east... You would have thought that this known problem would have been solved by now.
