Thanks Tim, I've had some practice! It isn't that difficult though, like I said after doing my first set, it's a little more difficult than pulling a pillow case over a pillow.

I need an instructional video on how to remove and replace the dash pad and veneer on a 1972 Karmann Ghia. I bought the kit from Jbugs but need help.

I hope it’s that easy when I get to doing my ‘69 Type 1! I like the look of that particular upholstery. What are the materials and colors?

The vinyl is #22 Cream White, the insert is #74 Sand Tweed.

Question: would using a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the vinyl make this whole process easier?

Certainly but the hard part is getting ALL of the material warm. Working in a warm environment or setting the seats in the sun to warm up works best.

Ive got a spike that broke off the seat frame. Any advice on how to.fix? Weld in a piece of sheet metal perhaps?

That’s all we do, yes. Some good quality sheet metal, cut to the appropriate shape and welded in place will do the job. In our experience most of the premade spikes aren’t good metal so they break as soon as they are folded over. If you can, an old damaged German fender, etc will work the best.

If you're referring to the original upholstery, yes. It is more for styling and obviously not essential. It all depends on how the upholstery is made.

When i slide my seat onto the rail,..it pops off. I think 1 side of the rail doesnt hold the seat. Not sure if its the rail on the body, or the rail of the seat that is damaged..
