Solely using muriatic acid to dissolve gold might be preferable when dealing with pure gold or computer hardware because it does nothing to dissolve some of the impurities that may be found in the source. HCL does not dissolve copper for example, but Aqua Regia does. Aqua fortis and muriatic acid solution (Aqua Regia) is the most efficient 'poor-man's' process of gold refining. Chloroauric acid is the most effective tool in gold purification on an industrial scale.

What makes all of you think he is going to reveal his secret? He isn't using acid as you can see the gold dissolve right into the solution. There are many ways to recover gold from e-scraps. Just do a bit of research. Some may work for you and some may not depending on where you are.

Why not just put SMB, sodium metobisulphate in the video. Very common precipitant reactant for gold from acid solution. Very simple chemistry.
