For the one way Anova question, How you get SStotal is 100 and error 55? I didn't see its given. So, confused how you got that. Thank you

Hey Kruti, those values are usually calculated from the raw data. This example is just meant to test a students understanding of how an ANOVA table is constructed and the relationships between the total sum of squares (SStotal), and the Sum of squares of the Error (SSe) and the Sum of Squares of the Treatment (SSt).

How do we know the smaple sized needed? We make 20000 bolts a day and about 100 are rejected. We want to reduce scrap. Do we need spc? If so how many samples and what time interval is needed. No other knowledge is useful if we dont know this. The operators can just make 20 good parts and turn them in and say all is well.
