There was a way to create a doom loop with the heat switch pick up. Think of the point at the top of a flag staff. After 3 round in a closed cycle it will pivot to the opposite direction. With the double booster it would have hit the cursed blade 6 times if part of the system. End result is Massive block generation when launched into a shield module. Downside is that block is generated at end of cycle. Vulnerable to spiked enemies. Still a great example shown as a hybrid cog/spike/cursed blade build. Rare to see this come together perfectly.

That's fascinating actually! I'm still learning CR-8 and his energy routing can be pretty confusing for me. I tend to go for very straight forward builds with them. I think I understand how that would work though, and as long as I wouldn't have encountered spikes it would have been killer!

@@MatchaMellow the exact doom loop energy count to exit is 8. 3 base plus 1 on bonus (armour forge, relic and legendaries) to enter with 2 boosters in the loop. Will hit a 3 pip tall weapon 7 times. The shield module on exit generates +24 block.

25:50 I think you can rotate the gems and have them *_pointed towards_* your weapon to get the bonus. The description box text should change according to how you orientate the gem.

Ahhh good point! I think at that point I was feeling pretty confident in the build so I didn’t want to finesse it lol. Always more ways to optimize though!

Curses aren't bad they're just different. (Edit) I'm going to call this a Cursed Thorns build, you didn't see any of the good curse combos. My favorite curse combo is Matryostka and Glove. I had one run where I had Cursed Dagger, Cursed Wetstone, and Cursed Blade. Got like 5 Ball and Chains (5 rage, 1 exhaust), and two Cursed Gloves with a Martryoska Doll. The only curse that I don't like is the box curse that forces you to destroy items.

For sure! Before 1.0 came out curses were a lot different. So I’m still learning how to work with them :)

Been on a curse challenge here. At least one curse in bag/play at the time. Possessed pot works very well with venom sword and swamp buckler because it's somewhat controllable. Guaranteed poison generation on self with toxin cloud and a line of shivs for block/damage. Living rock is hilarious with barbell and crab cactus. Does AOE damage and does a second trigger of all status generation (block, haste, spikes, engine wand, etc). A cursed whetstone on Tote is just broken. Double damage boost and malus easily removed with survival guide. Her curse carvings are quite useful and have carried some unusual runs.

Did a cursed hand and possessed pot run inspired by this run. Very steady rage generation by eating hazards every turn. These unconventional items have added some interesting decisions into play.

@@mrbluebell2735 cursed pot is good for self poison and hazard builds. Chain is one of the best rage generates if you can handle -1 energy. Axe is insanely powerful. Spiked crown works well with cactus. Glove is one of my single handed favorite items in a cursed run because it let's you clear curses you don't like while combing with spawner items. The only cursed item I hate is the box.

Yeah that's That's pretty broken Interesting cursed sword run, too! I basically never pick it up, so it's kinda cool seeing it put to use.

I’ve never used cursed sword before this run! I’m always hesitant to take curses but I’m glad I tried it out here. It’s interesting for sure

You can pronounce CR-8 as Crate, its a container like all characters
